One-Minute Meditations
MeditationIn Psalm 139:23 we read "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test my thoughts." In the "Saws* of David" he writes:

"God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand. I'm an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I am thinking.
"You know when I leave and when I get back; I'm never out of your sight. You know everything I am going to say before I start the first sentence."

"I look behind me and you are there, then up ahead and you're there too. This is too much, too wonderful. I can't take it all in.
"Investigate my life, God, find out everything about me; cross-examine and test me; get a clear picture of what I'm about. See for yourself whether I have done anything wrong, then guide me on the road to eternal life."

Dear God,
Am I willing to take such a divine examination? If not, help me find more time to be with You. Thank You.

* "Saws" means sayings

Sedro Woolley Update

Greetings in the most precious name of Jesus!!!

After much prayer and patience...........We will have our permits tomorrow!!! Our parking situation is resolved and we owe all of you a big thanks for your prayers!!! (Don't stop now though) We will be onsite tomorrow preparing everything and getting it in order to begin a nonstop effort to get SWCF open!

The ministry here continues to grow as God has answered so many prayers for so many people. Everything from jobs and health to a homeless man asking God for a place to live within a year and just a week later......he has a home!! That same man was at Bible study last night and rededicated his life to Lord while the group laid hands on him! Another prayer was that an office space be a approved for one of our members and he picked up the keys yesterday!!!! Praise God for such awesome displays of who He is!!!

Prayer requests:
  • Strength and wellness of those on the construction team
  • Continued relationship building within the community
We continue to pray for you as well and thank you so much for your support!!

Francine Rivers has done it again with the second book of the Marta's Legacy series.  HER DAUGHTER'S DREAM continues the generational story of mothers and daughters started in HER MOTHER'S HOPE and brings the story up to present day. Rivers has again made the New York Times Bestseller list.

You don't have to be a sports fan or a war history buff to enjoy UNBROKEN, the life story of Louis Zamperini whose Olympic running career was cut short by WWII.  His plane was downed over the Pacific and he survived only to be picked up by the Japanese to become a POW.  He survived terrible brutality and hated his captors. It was in a Billy Graham Crusade that Jesus saved him and brought purpose to his life.  At age 81 he carried the Olympic torch in Japan. Now in his 90's he still carries the torch for his Lord. A breathtaking, exciting, carefully documented story by Laura Hillenbrand who also authored SEABISCUIT. The book is also on the NY Times bestseller list.

Browse the library table for some of our newer titles. Also a few oldies have been placed. The ANNE OF GREEN GABLES series is a classic loved by children and adults as well.  C. S. Lewis'  NARNIA SERIES is always a good read. The books themselves are a beautiful edition.

Take time to browse. The shelves are full of good reading to be enjoyed.

Upcoming Events for Women's Ministry
January 15th "Women Together" Kick off
We are going to have once a month "Women Together" group starting in January: a women's breakfast prayer group every 3rd Saturday from January through May. We will meet at the church fellowship hall for a light breakfast, devotions, words of testimonies and prayer with the focus being on our Missionaries around the world. Mark your calendars and come join us January 15 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

May 2011
Planning has begun for the Spring Retreat. It will be the weekend after Mother's Day this year. We will not be going to Oak Harbor as in the past and the cost will be a little more this year. I am trying to get the word out so we can save our money and find ways to get the ladies to this retreat. It has been a real blessing in my life and would encourage you to consider this retreat. The cost this year will be approximately $90.00. If you have questions come see me.
