Hymn Service This Sunday
Mark your calendars and come prepared to share in our hymn service on this Sunday. We are asking all members to come with their requests for hymns to sing, along with their testimony regarding how their selection has inspired their faith. Please plan to use this time to encourage your church family by sharing your favorite hymn's meaning for you. Ella Mae Durkee - Kenny's mom - has agreed to play piano for us during this service and a fellowship meal will follow.
From Our Pastor Emeritus, Clio Thomas

Pastor Clio Thomas serves as "Area Director" for the Asia/Pacific mission field of the Advent Christian Denomination. One of his duties is to encourage mission workers in a variety of settings throughout Asia. The following is a weekly installment of his letter, sent literally around the world to those in his charge.

Dear Ones in Christ,

Last week our Pastor's son and I were standing in front of a woodshed where I have an ox yoke mounted over the entrance. I mentioned to him that I had bought it years ago planning to use it as the horizontal timber on a cross at the church. My plan was to build the cross, and over it inscribe the words of Matthew 11:28-30; "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."  I never built the cross so I mounted the ox yoke over the woodshed entrance as a reminder.

As I think of the cross and Jesus' invitation, I am reminded that we Christians have often made following Jesus much too complicated. Being a Christian is about coming to Jesus with all of one's sins and extra baggage, surrendering one's life to Him in repentance, receiving His grace and forgiveness, following Him in obedience, and allowing Him to live in one's life. Receiving, knowing, and loving Jesus is not complicated. It is the most freeing thing in the world. Jesus' invitation is, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

His invitation is simple. It is direct. It is not complicated. It offers rest, freedom, and hope to weary and burdened souls.

May He bless you, today!

Love in Him,

Pastor Clio

Bib Making Day
Women's Ministries is sponsoring a bib-making day on Tuesday, July 20 from 9:30-2:00 at the church. All women are invited to attend. We'll be making bibs to send to the A. C. Village nursing home in Florida where Dorothy Warriner is a resident. Please bring along a sack lunch and beverages will be provided. Also, we'd love to receive any cotton fabric you might have that you would be willing to donate. If you have questions, talk to Jody Fenlason. We hope to see you on the 20th!
Fellowship Meal This Sunday
Our next fellowship meal is July 11. So come to the beach with us and have a BBQ! Contact either Kathy Durkee or Kathy Wheaton for the sign up list on salads and desserts.

Hope Is Coming Thursday, July 22, 7:00 PM
Hope is a small singing group from California Baptist University. Please join us for a great evening of music and worship.

We are also looking for 4 or 5 homes to house 2 or more from the group. They would need breakfast Friday morning and a sack lunch to take with them. We are not sure yet of the time they need to be back to the church on Friday. If you can help or need more info please contact Sarah Patton or Neal Tripp. E-mail sarahroshon@yahoo.com or 206 439-8564 or nrtripp77@hotmail.com.

Let's All Go to Family Camp!
August 5 - 8 we will join the Willamette Valley AC Conference for family camp in Boardman, Oregon. Last year many of us attended and had a terrific time of worship and fellowship. We've been invited to join them once again, and this year we will be responsible for hosting at least one meal. Please plan to join us!

Below is a link that will take you to a page on our website which has an MS Word document with the information and registration forms. Please complete your registration and reservations ASAP.
