Birns & Sawyer, Inc Blogette for July 2009
RSVP for Canon Event
It's been a week.

I stew over tax incentives in states other than California and question my mental state as I confuse August with July. I invite hundreds of readers to a Canon EOS 5D, Mk II event on August 30th instead of July 30th.  I tried blaming my editor (who shall remain nameless), however, when that clearly did not work so well (he's feisty) I had to consider the possibility that I was either drunk or demented.  (I had an aunt who was demented; she tried to smoke her lipsticks)

Anyhoo - those interested in seeing footage from Canon's 5D, Mk II shot by noted cinematographer Byron Shah and directed by Jason Ensler, IT's JULY 30th, 6:00PM, B&S Hollywood.

 REDucation- Community Day REviewed

Remember Varicamp?  Same idea.  Different camera. Community Day was an opportunity for the students attending REDucation and the RED user community at large to see what tricks vendors had up their sleeves.

!Ted showed off a model of Super 35 Scarlet to a crowd that included Ben Kufrin, Warren Yeager, Philip Hurn and Marty Ollstein, et al. There were several Michael Cioni sightings as he took a moment out from his teaching obligations.  Final Cut announced a new version that works natively with DVCPro and AVC-Intra.

Shared a little deja vu with Kristin P. on an early HD Expo that had been held in the same location, LA Center Studios.  If you missed this session, click on the link (above) and check out future workshops.

We have a new web site!
Check it out Monday morning- same address, new look, www.birnsandsawyer.com (see link above)
