FLAT SPELL HELL

Last week I was sprouting about how we were having an OK run of waves for this time of year, and then the ocean went flat..... Should have kept quite.
Monday had a few fun ones around but from then on it has been very slim pickings.
I was out photographing every morning this week (between 6am-7am) but didn't see too many surfers. The new gallery up is titled "Waves from 19th-23rd October"

BLOG UPDATE

This was the first week that the blog has had a morning update/photo every day. Pity the ocean didn't pulse, but it did produce some beautiful warm light to play with. I photographed a different beach each morning, poking my lens at spots as far north as Corindi to Sawtell in the south, and few beaches in between. Posts are normally up by around 10am each day, so check in each day to get an idea of what the Coffs waves looked like.
(Posts are from Mon-Fri)

shallow

Only tiny waves on offer all week

FORECAST
Waves are coming up from the south on Monday and getting solid by Tuesday, but it will most likely come with strong onshore winds, making for some very un-tidy surface conditions. But I think we will all take onshore winds on the chin if they can get rid of this frustrating flat spell.
So you should get wet but keep expectations low.

dawn fishing

A fat fish or more likely a heavy longboard was the weapon of choice over the last week

CLIP OF THE WEEK

Regular readers of this newsletter would already know I am a massive fan of the film making of Nathan Oldfield, I was going through his blog the other day and came across this cool little clip that didn't make the cut for his last film titled "SEAWORTHY" the fact that this didn't make the cut shows how good Seaworthy is, if you haven't seen it yet hassle your local surf shop for a copy.
