Ventura County Fair

It's county fair season and time for funnel cake, rides, games, livestock, entertainment and fireworks! The Ventura County Fair, 10 West Harbor Boulevard, runs through August 12 with the annual Fair Parade on Saturday, August 4 at 10 am on Main Street.

Heavy traffic congestion is anticipated Downtown. Street closures are as follows: Garden Street to Front Street (traffic for residents and business use only); Figueroa Street Southbound is closed for traffic, Northbound is used to direct traffic out of the fairgrounds; and California Street Southbound will periodically be closed.  Please obey all traffic laws and direction from Officers and police personnel. Visitors to the fair can avoid traffic by using the free shuttle service.

Learn about special admission days, check out the entertainment schedule and more at venturacountyfair.org

City Manager's Blog: Enough water?

Ventura City Manager Rick Cole gives immediate insight into breaking news.  In his latest post, he discusses the rising cost of water.

"It's said that while two-thirds of the world is covered in water, less than 2% of it is drinkable.  Clean freshwater is not just a precious resource, it is a fragile one."
