Title 22 Surveys Are Coming |
The Department of Public Health has announced it plans to continue to increase its state Title 22 surveys this year and expects to conduct them in at least 50% of the skilled nursing facilities in 2010. According to the DPH, one of the three most cited Title 22 deficient practices is failure to post the current and following week's resident menus.
Years ago, before OBRA and F tags, Title 22 was the regulatory source for the skilled nursing facility. Now, the state is circling back around and holding facilities to those regulations as well as the Federal regulations. So, we all need a refresher to be able to assist our clients with maintaining compliance. When I was a corporate dietitian, I would conduct a Title 22 Trivial Pursuit game in dietary manager training sessions and pass out prizes for the game winners. Let's see how you do: take the Title 22 Quiz in the RD Poll this week (see side bar) and enter to win a gift card. |
