RD Tip |
Did you know that there is a cultural anthropological basis for Thanksgiving menu planning? It seems that studies have been made of the foods served by individual families across our nation on Thanksgiving. The menu is usually built around the big turkey, but then begins to vary in each family for the preparation methods and side dishes. These will reflect the ethnic background, country of native origin, region of the US or even the immigration history of the family. Read more about this at Thanksgiving Dinner. I assure you that my Thanksgiving table will not include sauerkraut, oysters, lasagna, flan, mole or collard greens --- although I do like all of those foods!
Take a look at a free downloadable cook book online from Martha Stewart.
What will you be serving on "Turkey Day?" Please share your menu plans with me for a chance to win a prize! See the side bar for details! |
