HMC Dietitian Professional
Leading the Way
Enthusiastic, Entertaining, Empowering, Experienced, Excellent!
Those are just a few words that describe Julie Tharalson, RD, and Culinary Professional. As a Regional Dietitian for HMC, Julie travels throughout California and has been respectfully referred to as the "Queen of the Highway."
Julie is leading the way in building upon her profession as a Registered Dietitian into the Culinary Field as an educator within the healthcare industry and beyond. Her enthusiasm, generous laughter and encouragement provides one with the tools and tips to find success in their own kitchen.

This presentation was entertaining and empowering for the average 'cook'.
This month Julie has launched a blog and website that demonstrates her continued "leading the way" professionalism. "I'm finding the more important considerations are that foods should be simple, well chosen, prepared with good technique and largely free of extraneous unpronounceable, unidentifiable ingredients." Elsewhere in her blog Julie shares:"More than 20 years ago, I fell in love with a cool, smooth Greek. Now, if you're expecting a tale of sultry Hellenic interludes, I'm afraid I will disappoint here because I am referring to.. click her for the rest of the story! |
Dear Dietitians; |
People don't eat nutrition, they eat food...it's about quality foods in combination with consuming a variety of foods. As dietitians we get wrapped up in the details of nutrients and MNT, but let's not loose sight that people eat real foods---like Julie promotes! Bon appetite`.
