RD Poll Results for RD Day March 11 |
Thank you to all of you who shared your valuable input! Here are a few of the responses that came in last week.
What benefits and rewards have you enjoyed as a Registered Dietitian with HMComposite?
Carol S; I have enjoyed being able to see the different facilities and share ideas with them to make their facilities successfull with productivity, budget challenges and survey results.
Kim B; Lee & Sam are a wealth of information, and I have learned a great deal from both of them, as well as the rest of the senior staff.
Jennifer J; I love it all. The company is so professional and supportive to RDs.
When did you first decide you wanted to be a Registered Dietitian?
Carol S; When hired at age 16 at a local convalescant hospital as a dietary aide I saw the dietitian come once a month for her visits and decided I wanted to be a dietitian. I felt I could make a difference in the nutritional programs of these elderly people.
Robin C; Personal experiences; very limited family finances and support; parental pressure to pursue a degree path that allowed me to work and pay for my own college education without taking out any loans.
Joan A; I attended a career day while in high school. The RDs seemed to be having a lot of fun, so this got me interested into looking into the profession.
Jennifer G; My own health problem that a year of seeing doctors and specialists couldn't solve but, low and behold, seeing a dietitian solved in a few weeks. That's the power of nutrition!
Kelly S; After attempting 2 other careers (engineering & graphic communications)
Kim B; My 80 year old grandmother who still teaches senior citizen aerobics inspired me to join this profession.
Jennifer J; My love of reading food labels and finding out the mechanics of it all. Combining nutriton with my love of geriatrics made consulting in LTC a perfect fit!
Cynthia R; Working in another field where I felt I was out of options as far as advancement. Although I loved my previous career, I knew it wasn't something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. |
