OF THE MONTH

Book- Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
Movie: Up!
Food: Chicken Fajitas and Chicken Kabobs

This month's teacher is Ms. Gohar from the Little Dragons Green Class.  Ms Gohar is also our Site Director at school which means she ensures DSS compliance at Camelot.  Ms. Gohar was born in Abovyan, Armenia.  At one year old, she moved to Glendale, CA and has lived here ever since.   Ms. Gohar lives with her parents and her brother.  She stated that her parents have had the most influence on her life- they have encouraged and lead her into the right direction to which she is thankful.   Ms. Gohar also has a Yorkshire Terrier named Sparky at home whom she loves spending her spare time with.  By watching "Cesar Millan's- the Dog Whisperer" she has learned how to manage Sparky, being her first pet.

Ms. Gohar is one class away from receiving a B.S. degree in Child Development.  After she graduates in December, she hopes to continue her education by going to grad school for School Psychology or School Counseling.  As an interesting fact: Ms. Gohar would love to take a year off of her schooling to attend a Culinary Arts school and learn how to cook different cultural dishes and learn different food designs.

If she could give the world one piece of advice, she would tell them "Laugh, like no one is listening.  Dance, like no one is watching.  Love, like you've never been hurt. Live, like tomorrow is only a dream."
and "Patience is a Virtue"

Artist of the month: Dr. Seuss

Don't forget to go to our website and update your information for our school directory.  "Update Parent Info" link (bottom left side).  If you have already done this for the new 2010-11 school year there is no need to do it again or if your info has not changed.  We would like all of you do to this by the 10th of September.  The sooner this is done the sooner we can email each family a PDF our "Parent Directory".

Mighty Me:

This program is geared towards teaching self-empowerment and the belief that physical activity leads to improved self-esteem. Brian Donovan will be camouflaging exercises with creative storytelling, physical pratfalls and great songs and sayings. Eventually we see the program branching off into environmental awareness, being caring citizens of planet earth and loving one's self. Brian teaches these classes twice a month on Wednesday mornings.

Camelot Parents - Yoga at the Raven:

Starting September 13, on Monday and Wednesday Mornings at 9:30am the Parents of Camelot are getting together to do Yoga at the Raven Spa.   The Raven Spa has graciously given us 10% off the cost of regular classes.   Please let Missy know if you are interested.

Recycle Center:

Please make an effort to donate your recyclables to the bins that are located outside in the parking lot near the back fence entrance. A little goes a long way and all the money(s) goes directly back into the schools overall maintenance & supplies.

Wish List:

Camelot has a wish list posted on our website which lists the supplies each class would LOVE to enjoy.  Parents often ask what we need, this is a great way to contribute to your child's class.  We greatly appreciate any help in obtaining some of the items from our wish list.  Each list may change frequently, so check back often to see how you can help.

Parent Handbook:

Please keep in mind that our parent handbook is up on our website and is available for you to peruse at anytime. It has all of our daily information policies and procedures. We urge you to take some time and read overall of its material.  Please read and sign and return the last page by the 15th Sept.

Don't forget to turn in your Earthquake Kit. This is stored here at school in case of an emergency. We store food and fresh water along with an earthquake pack for each child. There is an annual fee of $25 required to replenish these goods each year.  We need all packs handed into the main office by the 15th of September.  Please put these items in a zip lock bag and clearly label with your child's name.
