Lancelot Lunch Update

No Parent's Night Out This Month
Parent's Night out will be back in July for all those Mommy's and Daddy's that need a break.

Earthquake Backpacks
Your child's Earthquake Backpack will be returned the last week of school.  Please place a new set of shoes and clothes (if needing new sizes) and return to the main office asap so they can be stored for another year in our Emergency Kit.  All the food in the emergency bins will be distributed during the summer months so the kids can enjoy them before they expire.  Your $25 earthquake fee will be used to purchase new food in case of an emergency for the new school year and stored with their updated backpacks.

FAQ'S RE GRADUATION AND SUMMER SERENADE

What time do I bring my child to school on Graduation Day June 19, 2009?
Camelot will operate on our regular MORNING schedule that day, so please be on time (between 8-9a) for drop-off.  After the Graduation Celebration we will have early dismissal. Please take your children home after the Graduation Celebration which will end at 1pm.

What time does the Graduation Celebration start?
We will begin seating families at 11a. The show will start promptly at 12:00p and go until 1:00p. After the show ends, we will begin to set up for the Summer Serenade that will be happening that night.  Please make a concerted effort to arrive early to find good seating (Don't forget your sun block and hats).

How should my child dress for Graduation day?
All children will be performing in the Graduation Celebration, so please dress them in comfortable light colored (preferably yellow or white) attire and comfortable shoes. If the children have costumes they will wear them over their regular clothing.  If your child's teacher has a specific type of dress for this day they will email you directly with more details.

Do we need to bring anything for the Graduation or Summer Serenade?
In order for our Graduation and Summer Serenade to be a huge success we are asking all families to bring a pot luck dish and donate as many bottles of wine & beer that you can.  (We will have a sign up sheet posted on the gate to indicate what dish and wine you are bringing.)  You may bring your dish the day before Thursday June 18 or the morning of graduation from 8-9a. Keep in mind that anytime after that the staff will be very busy preparing for the show.  If the dish is hot, you may bring it when you arrive that evening...  The wine needs to be dropped off at Camelot by Wednesday 17th.

Who will be coming to the Graduation?
All of our families and their invited guests please make sure to arrive early in order to ensure a good seat for the show. Keep in mind that the show is about 45 minutes to an hour long.

What is the Summer Serenade?
The Summer Serenade is our graduation after party that welcomes the Summer Solstice and will kick off at 6p and go until 10p. We have DJ Henry Stambler, Mathew Puckett (Molly's Dad) and Howard Lorey's band (Grace's dad) performing. There is a $15.00 adult entrance fee (kids are free).  Admission includes food, and one drink ticket.  The Summer Serenade is open to the community so please help by spreading the word!!!  The more people that come to the Serenade, the more money we will raise to convert the shed into two new classrooms for our kids to enjoy!!!

Volunteers
We need your help to make this event a huge success:  You can help by signing up for the following:  A sign up sheet will be posted on our front gate.
1.    Handing out fliers - we have some fabulous flyers (thanks Cortez's mom).  Please help us advertise this event by posting in neighborhood shops, schools and friends etc.  We will leave them on our sign in table and in the main office.
2.    We need some parents to help set up the graduation Thurs 18th 2-6pm
3.    We need some parents to help set up for the Summer Serenade Friday 1pm-3pm
4.    We need some parents to help clean up after Summer Serenade - 10pm-11pm...

The more people that sign up to help the quicker this work is done and the more fun it is for everyone.....so your help is greatly appreciated!!!

Parking
Just a note: We encourage carpooling and walking to the Graduation and Summer Serenade. We will have the front and back lot open for parking, so please make sure not to block the driveway when arriving for any of the festivities.

What happens the week after the Graduation Celebration?
We will still have one week left of official school before our week off (June 29-July 3). When we return in July we will resume in all of the same classrooms. The summer session of school is fun and filled with water, art & music. The graduating class is still welcome to stay for the summer program until they start in kindergarten class in the new school year.

Just a note: Camelot Kids is able to accept children ages 2 until they enter the first grade. This means that all of our alumni kids are able to be here an extra summer until they enter the 1st grade.

When do we find out what class our child will be in for the new school year?
You will be notified via email from your new teacher in the summer months (July & August). At this time you will be updated with the new school year/classroom information as well as the calendar for the month of September.

The staff at Camelot wanted to thank all the generous families who contributed to our staff appreciation week and your loving support.

Sincerely,

Renae & Loni
