April 22, 2009 - Celebrate Earth Day!
We want to make a difference for our children and our community, so we are committed to celebrating Earth Day by participating in the Silver Lake Chamber of Commerce Green Committee's  "Earth Day Ball" project.
On Earth Day (Wednesday, April 22nd), Silver Lake Chamber of Commerce Green Committee will be creating a massive plastic ball (our "Earth Day Ball") made up of plastic bags at Triangle Square in the Sunset Junction area. The ball will represent the many, many plastic bags Silver Lake businesses typically use in one year. (For example, one of our local large grocery stores uses 6,000 plastic bags each month!)

Please help us by bringing in ALL your used plastic bags and drop them in the marked bin in our recycle center.  Camelot will also host the "Earth Ball" on our campus the following year educating our kids to respect "Mother Earth".

News:

Beautification Day
We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts all the wonderful parents that helped clean Camelot on Beautification Day(s)... It takes a lot to keep the campus clean and constantly make improvements so we appreciate all the support.  It is so rewarding seeing the kids enjoying such a wonderful space.

New Bathrooms
If you haven't already noticed we have installed 3 new toilets outside in the "Blue Shed" so the kids can enjoy their potty breaks during outside play!!!.  Big thank you to Logan's dad for donating the lights and Miss Candy's dad for donating the tiles!!!  He also did the amazing plumbing work on his weekends off.

Parking
Big thanks to James (Ben's Dad) and Bryan (Tanner's Dad) for painting the red "DO NOT PARK HERE" lines in front of the gate.  If everyone can respect that space as a walkway into the school it would make our morning drop off's a lot easier.  Thanks!!!

Notice Boards
Please note that we use the back gate above the sign in table & a board in the main office to post notices.  Please check this often as we post important info regarding final enrichment performances and community information.

Shop To Earn
Don't forget to shop online through our www.shoptoearth.net/camelotkids to earn money for Camelot! I recently purchased my Southwest airline tickets through the Camelot portal and earned $20 back for Camelot.  My tickets came to $400 and Southwest gives Camelot 5% back on airline purchases.  I have recently made purchases with Diapers.com they give 8% back, I Tunes gives 5% back, and Office Max 8% and Avalon Organics 15%.  All my purchases directly benefit Camelot.  This is such a very simple and effective way to raise money for the school. So shop online at shoptoearth.net/camelotkids  Please contact me with any of your questions.  Sheryl siada2@mac.com 323.578.1846
