March 27, 2009: FIRST DAY OF SPRING: Beautification Day - 9am-5pm
We are asking for parent volunteers to help organize and clean out the back storage area. This is your chance to help pitch in and help "revive" the storage shed in preparation for our new floor plan for fall 2009.  We will be installing new bathrooms and need to start the process with a basic cleaning.  A dumpster will be here to load all the random "trash" from the back parking lot.  We would like your cooperation on a week day due to child care being available, but we will also be working Sat 28th for those that cannot make it on Friday.  Please sign up in the main office and let us know what time you may be able to help. We thank you for all your time and cooperation.  (Pizza will be delivered for lunch)

CAMELOT NEWS
''Lancelot Lunch" Program

Thank you to all the families who took the time to give us feedback on our "Green Table" program.  We understood you were wanting a more kid-friendly, not sooo green lunch with more "bang for your buck" so we are very excited to present the new Camelot Kids ..."Lancelot Lunch" program.  We have teamed up with Gelson's Market to create a lunchbox that includes a kid-friendly sandwich or "hot" meal, baked potato wedge, side of fresh fruit salad, a juice box & toy!!!  All in a super FUN box for the same price $6!!  We hope you will take a peek at our new lunch menu posted on our website. We thank "Freight" for their lunches and will be hosting one of our future PNO there as they serve an amazing dinner and allow us to BYO!!!

Snacks
Just a reminder... due to the recent "Salmonella" scare with peanut product, please do not bring anything with "peanut" flavors for snack.
Also please keep in mind as per the California State Board of Education, they recommend not serving the following foods for snack or lunch due to their high choking risk.:
·         Popcorn
·         Raw carrots
·         Whole grapes
·         Hot dogs
·         String cheese
·         Hard or sticky candy

Check Out The CK Photo Gallery:
Thank you Lawrence (Ella's papa) for editing the end of year performances, they are now posted on our website.  If you are interested in obtaining a copy he is more than happy to burn them for a nominal fee.  We also posted some pics of the "Firemen's" visit. Check back often to see new pictures posted of our enrichment classes and various fun times during our school days.

Main Office Buzzer:
We'd like to thank all the families who contributed to the "buzzer fundraiser" that our lovely Heidi (Gannon's mommy) organized.  You raised $300 towards it and we are in the process of working out installation with security being our top priority.

Shop4Camelot:

Thank you Sheryl (Sabine's mom) for setting Camelot up with our own ShopToEarth/ShopToEarn website. www.shoptoearn/camelotkids.org

Basically Camelot will get 1-40% CASH BACK on any online shopping you are already doing!

This website is a portal to the internet - and has relationships with over 800 ecommerce sites - everything from Target, REI, Marcy's, The Gap, Expedia, Shutterfly, Diapers.com, Priceline, Home Depot, Southwest Airlines, Wine.com and even I-Tunes! AND has relationships with a hundreds of Green Companies - Avalon, Kiss My Face, Wedela, Citris Magic, Giavanni, Ricola, Green Sprouts, Clif Bar and  many more!

We encourage all parents to support our school and shop online through our portal so we can earn cash back for Camelot.

We are very grateful for this ongoing opportunity to raise money for our school to buy much needed school supplies and to continue to make improvements to our gorgeous campus by simply shopping online.  We hope that we can make the world a better place by encouraging people to purchase their everyday items from green conscious companies in ShoptoEarth.

Habla Blah Blah - Vol Uno & Dos CD's

Sing-along, interactive music designed and researched for a child's introduction to the sounds and words of Spanish... it's simple. It's repetitive. Mostly, it seems like fun and playful music, and then suddenly you're "hablaing" espaņol together!

NOW AVAILABLE AT CAMELOT TO ENHANCE OUR SPANISH ENRICHMENT PROGRAM AS WELL AS ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED IN TEACHING THEIR KIDS SPANISH.

1 CD: $15.99
Both Vol 1 & 2 - $30.00

Parking Lot Etiquette:
We would like to take the time to remind all of our parents about our parkinglot etiquette. During the drop-off and pick-up hours navigating Camelot's small parking area can be a challenge, however we encourage everyone to respect the law and not park in the handicap spots unless legally allowed. If you cannot find parking in the first lot, there is an equally large rear parking area where you may find additional spots. Under no circumstance may a parent or caregiver park in front of the school's gate, front door or disabled spot (unless you have parking permit). Thank you for your time and cooperation as we continue to improve Camelot's environment for all.

We look forward to another fun-tastic month.
