"THE BRAGGIN DRAGON" Monthly Newsletter
|
Greetings Parents!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! Listed below are
the February updates. Please take a
moment to go through them all.
February 4,
2008: Firemen are comin' to Camelot!
Every month we conduct practice fire drills or earthquake drills. These drills help aid the children in understanding how to
properly evacuate our building in case of an emergency and various safety
techniques to use in an emergency situation. This month we are "surprising" the kids by
inviting our local fire department to come and visit and discuss the importance
of public safety. (Plus, they get to see
a real fire engine up close)
February 13, 2009: License Anniversary Party! Movie Night/Potluck
We received our
license on February 14, 2008 and are very excited to celebrate with families
and friends our one year anniversary!!! The kids will watch a movie in
the studio while the parents bring a dish, wine and come celebrate! (Hey...
it's also Deklan's 1st birthday!
Can you believe it was a year ago when Renae brought a 36 hour old
Deklan to DSS (Department of Social Services) ...with his placenta still attached
!)
February 16, 2009: Camelot Closed in Observance of President's Day
February 20, 2009: Parent's Night Out 5-10PM
Since this is a
month of celebration and appreciation, Camelot will be hosting a special night
for our parents at the Body Bar Urban Spa. Parents are welcome to join us for a
night filled with mini facials and massages from 6-9pm. Body Bar is offering all guests the following

Green Table Lunch Program

please turn it in to Ms. Beth in the main office.
Blood Drive
WE NEED YOUR
BLOOD! - We don't but the Children's Hospital does so we are planning a blood
drive here at Camelot. More info to follow..
so get those veins ready!!
Summer Camp 2009
Summer camp starts
July 6, 2009 and goes through August 28, 2009. Please note that we are a year
round program and will not be pro-rating families who leave for summer
vacation. You are required to pay every month to hold your child's
space for September enrollment. This is so that the staff can work their
full-time schedules and to keep consistency throughout the program.
If you are a Big
Dragon we kindly request that you inform
us by the 6th of February whether you are leaving the last day of
school or planning on staying through to the end of summer camp so we can offer
any available spots to our wait listed parents.
Schedule -
changes
We are currently in the
process of updating our wait list and require "ALL" parents to fill out the
attached schedule update to let us know if you would like to change or add days
or remain on the same schedule for July - Sept 09. Please hand this in to Elizabeth a.k.a. Beth
by 6th February.
Siblings - pre-registration
As you know siblings have
first priority for any available spaces for the New Year. We require all
parents who intend on enrolling them for Sept 2009 or Sept 2010 to fill
out our new online interest form. This
will ensure you are on our new "Wait List Database" which we are using to
secure spots for future enrollment. If
you are not on this new database your space may be given to other wait listed
parents. To secure your space
please return the "Pre-Registration" form along with your
$100 non-refundable yearly registration fee for the September 2009 school year
no later than February 6th, 2009 (This pertains to siblings only).
We are closing all schedule
changes and siblings pre-registration by 6th of Feb. Once this is closed we will be offering all
available spaces to the wait listed parents.
These new families will be notified by March if they will be accepted
into the program for the new school year.
Lost and Found
We are cleaning
out all our Lost & Found bins and will be donating any items that are not
collected by the 15th of February to the Goodwill. Please
make sure you check the lunch tables on February 5 & 6 and collect
any items that may be yours.
Main office
Makeover!
The sign in/out
books will only be out in the yard during the regular drop off/pick up times
(8-9a, 1pm, and 2pm) and will be brought in when the back gate is closed. Don't
forget to sign in and out in the main office with Ms. Beth between the hours of
9:10a and 1:00pm and again from 2:30-6:00pm. If someone other than a regular parent or
nanny is picking up your child please remind them to bring some form of
identification to show the staff, as
they are required to show ID and sign in the new "visitors book".
Cintas Cleaning
Service-
We have hired Cintas cleaning service to supply us with toiletries and a cleaning
service. Once a month they will clean each bathroom with a high-pressure washer
and chemical injection that removes build-up mops and brushes can't. The result
is a sanitized restroom that looks and smells clean.
*Every urinal, commode, sink and even the
floor is treated with Sanis Ultra clean, followed by a fresh water rinse.
*Water is vacuumed away along with all
bacteria and soil, allowing floors to dry quickly.
*All fixtures are blown dry so your restroom
is ready for immediate use.
Along
with this, we have Suzanna our cleaning lady who comes twice a week and cleans
each and every bathroom as well as all the other rooms in the facility. The toilets have also been fitted with an
anti-bacterial solution that sanitizes after every flush.
We
are also putting an air purifier in each class-room to remove airborne particles
and hopefully reduce the spread of germs between the children and teachers.
Napper's -
Note the new make-over in
the studio - Napper's have their own labeled mats along with their own labeled
box so each child uses the same mat for napping each day and these mats are
wiped down with a "green" friendly solution each Friday. Please remember to take home your child's
bedding each week to clean.
