Important Information about H1N1
School vaccination clinics cancelled Due to inadequate and unpredictable vaccine supply it has become very difficult to plan school vaccination clinics for the H1N1 immunizations. Dane County Public Health staff are hoping to organize clinics beginning in early December. They are working with other health care providers to determine the best plan for protecting the greatest number of high risk individuals from H1N1. Updates will be sent to families and posted on the District website as we receive them. More information & updates

Elementary School begins Treasures
Reading & Language Arts Program
The DeForest Area School District is in its first year using the Treasures Reading and Language Arts Program for grades K-5. The program was chosen last year based on a recommendation of a literacy committee made up of teachers from all DASD elementary schools. Meet the reading support team
There are four reading specialist instructors that serve students in our elementary schools. Their combined years of experience in the DeForest Area School District is over 100! This group of talented and supportive teachers are led by Sherri Rogalla, the District's Reading & Journeys (TAG) Coordinator, and Director of Instruction Sue Wilson. THANK YOU!
On behalf of the staff and students of the DeForest Area School District, thank you DMB Community Bank and members of our communities for the donations received through the Lend-A-Hand program.
The is indeed amazing. Thousands of dollars were donated in the form of gift certificates, lunch/field trip funds, and school supplies.
A special thanks to an anonymous donor who gave $5,000 towards the program! Whoever you are -- words of thanks are not enough. Thank you also to Rhonda Gilbertson at DMB for coordinating the program. | |
