DAHS Career Clusters Workshops, 2009-10
New to DAHS this year, Career Cluster Workshops give high school students an opportunity to learn more about a variety of careers within one career cluster. [Not familiar with Career Clusters? Visit www.careerclusters.org for more information.] Details:
- One per month, October-April
- 2:20 - 2:35 pm - General overview presentation by high school staff
- 2:35-3:35 pm - Table discussions and interactive demonstrations
This is not an entire school event. Rather, only students with an identified interest in the chosen career cluster will be invited. The benefit to the presenters is that this will include only a group of students who really have a desire to learn about your career area. How Can You Help? Volunteer to host a table or booth and talk about your career or opportunities within your company related to this career cluster! Some ideas for your table: show a demonstration, share brochures or handouts, allow students to experience an activity related to your career field, present a short video, answer questions, etc. You don't need to create an elaborate presentation -- it will be a casual format with students moving from table to table.
