Sigma International Leadership Academy:
Website Launches on Eve of New Orleans Conclave

Tuesday, July 7, 2009
The Sigma International Leadership Academy (SILA) is now accessible through the Internet and soon adaptable on-line training modules will be available to Brothers and Chapters with plans to expand these training modules to the general public and the corporate world. Effective today, SILA has an internet home, www.sigmaleadershipacademy.com.

The site launches on the eve of the 2009 Conclave, being held this week in New Orleans, Louisiana. SILA is providing the faculty and clearinghouse coordination for all workshops to be conducted during the Conclave for registered Brothers. Additionally, SILA is sponsoring a mini-conference entitled Community Conference 2009: Mind, Body & Spirit - From Aspiration to Application ( www.communityconference2009.com ), open to the local community and registered participants of the Conclave. Conclave registrants may attend all workshops; non-Conclave registrants may pay $150.00 on-site to register for the Community Conference and the workshops that will be offered there.

Says Brother Bennie Harris, Director of SILA, "It is the hope of the Academy that we will deliver contemporary, relevant and content driven information in a web 2.0 environment that will facilitate emerging learning styles, and acquisition of knowledge and information  We want to keep Brothers connected in ways that will empower them."

Currently the site contains the background information on the Academy, information about the curriculum as well as the Academy's faculty. History of the development of the Academy is contained in the form of Sigma Internal Communications under the News tab of the site.

During this week's Conference, Brothers, registrants and participants may 'Twitter' or 'FaceBook' the Academy's site and even connect through 'LinkedIn' to share and receive information regarding the training that will occur during the week.
