Greetings!
Phi Beta Sigma will build a house for a family while in New Orleans!
On behalf of the entire Brotherhood, I want to thank those Brothers who made an additional cash donation to help the Fraternity build this house. We have been communicating this service project for about a year and it will finally occur during the Conclave on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. As communicated, we are extending an invitation for volunteers to help build this house.
Please read the announcement below coming from Honorable Brother Judge Luke LaVergne, Chair, Phi Beta Sigma/Habitat for Humanity Partnership and his request for your assistance. This will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. We are limited on the number that can be approved to be onsite to actually participate in building the house on Tuesday, July 7th. We will have transportation for you to get from the hotel and back.
Thanks in advance for providing "Service for Humanity".

Dear Brothers,
All arrangements have been made with the Greater New Orleans Area Habitat For Humanity for the Phi Beta Sigma Sponsored House that we will build during Conclave 2009. The scheduled date for the "Wall Raising" is Tuesday, July 7th at 10:00 AM and the first wall will be raised by Brothers of our Noble Fraternity. The family who will occupy the home has been selected and the lot secured. We will start the construction the morning of July 7th.
Phi Beta Sigma is sponsoring the construction, therefore Habitat has invited us to volunteer to help build the house! We need a maximum of 25 Brothers to work at the site of the construction on Tuesday, July 7th. Habitat requires all volunteers to stay for the entire day, starting at 7:45 AM - 3:15 PM with a one hour scheduled lunch break. The Fraternity will provide sandwiches for lunch as well as water and other hydrating beverages.
At the start of the day, volunteers will be briefed on procedures, safety, and various tasks to be performed. Please know that it takes a while to become familiar with the environment and the rhythm of the work day.
Looking forward to hearing from you on or before Friday, June 26th!
Thanks so much.
Judge Luke LaVergne
Chairman Phi Beta Sigma/Habitat for Humanity Partnership
