Greetings!

We are pleased to announce that Phi Beta Sigma has been approved to receive its first Federal Contract. We will be working with the Constella Group, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Systems Research and Applications Corporation (SRA) to help in HIV/AIDS prevention, diagnosis, and treatment efforts within the Black community across the United States.

We want to thank our Director of Social Action, Brother John White for securing the opportunity. The work of Brothers Dr. Joseph West (Chicago), Dr. Bennie Harris, (Nashville) and our International Second Vice President, Brother Steven Kniffley (Louisville) are also appreciated for their efforts in working with our Executive Director, Brother Marco McMillian in the writing process, conference calls and meetings held to finalize the Fraternity's hard work during the application process. A special thanks to our Executive Director and his staff for their diligent work in making sure every deadline was met that insured a successful compliance that positioned the Fraternity for success.

We know that HIV/AIDS is at a crisis level among African Americans. Our work with this Federal Contract will have a powerful impact on informing our communities about this disease. We will be providing you more information about the Fraternity's work with this Federal Contract during our upcoming regional meetings. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Thanks for being involved with your Fraternity's programs and initiatives.Bro. Paul L. Griffin

Brotherly,

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Former Corporate Executive to manage Fraternity's first Federal Contract

Former Human Resource Executive and Project Director, Ophelia Howard has been named the Projector Coordinator for the Conversation among Brothers Series (CABS), a partnership with the Center for Disease Control (CDC). CABS is a program designed to raise the awareness of the impact HIV/AIDS is having on the African-American community. Collegiate chapters throughout the country have been selected to participate in this pilot program that recently received a five-year funding commitment from the CDC totaling more than a half million dollars.

Ms. Howard, who was responsible for developing training and mentoring programs for the 16,000+ employees in over 720 store locations for the Northeastern Zone for EROL's Video, will be responsible for managing the 35 collegiate chapters that have been selected to participate in CABS. In her role as Project Coordinator, she will develop the training modules and materials that will aid our chapters in being successful in implementing this new initiative. Her leadership as a cultural diversity and community relations professional uniquely positions her to lead this initiative. At a recent meeting with the CDC, Ms. Howard was warmly received and was provided commendation for her insight and creative ability.

The office of the Executive Director is very excited to have Ophelia accept this new opportunity. Her skills will further assist us in providing Next Level Service.

Please extend your congratulations to Ms. Howard as she joins our team.
