Spring Into Fitness - Tuesday, May 15
| 
Before summer's swimsuit season begins, it's time to Spring Into Fitness at your library! Organized by Mayor Louis Sceusi, the Rockaway Township Division of Health and the Rockaway Township Free Public Library, this program will help you learn strategies to ease into fitness, both indoors and outdoors.
On Tuesday, May 15 at 7pm, Will Smith, Exercise Physiologist and Health Education Coordinator for Corporate and Sports Health at Morristown Medical Center, will discuss fitness goals and techniques. Attendees will receive a four week indoor-based exercise prescription and a four week outdoor-based exercise prescription. A raffle will also be held, featuring books on healthy joints, back pain and heart health.

Tai Chi for Kids - Thursdays in May
|
This spring, the library will celebrate National Physical Fitness and Sports Month by offering free Tai Chi Classes for Children in 1st through 3rd Grade. Classes are being held for 4 weeks on May 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th from 3:30 to 4:15 pm. Funds for this program have been made possible by the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and the Rockaway Township Municipal Alliance Committee.
Tai Chi is an ideal way for children to grow flexible and strong. It teaches self awareness, builds confidence, and promotes overall well being. Space is limited, so please register at the Rockaway Township Library at 61 Mt. Hope Rd. Find more library programs for children here.

| Teen 'Scape: Hunger Games Trivia Contest - Friday, May 18 | |
You've read the book. You've seen the movie. Now test your knowledge in Hunger Games Jeopardy on Friday, May 18 from 3:30 to 5 pm. Sign up to be a contestant or audience member. Prizes will be awarded to the victors. Come in costume and receive an extra prize. Who will be the last contestant standing?
For teens in grades 6-12. Register by calling 973-627-2344, emailing darlene.steinhart@rtlibrary.org, or dropping by the circulation desk. Remember: may the odds be ever in your favor.

| Teen Summer Volunteer Sign-Ups Continue through Friday, May 25 | |
Sign-ups for teen summer volunteers will run through Friday, May 25. All Rockaway Township teens entering grades 7 to 12 in the fall are eligible. You may download an application and directions from the library website on our Teen Page or pick up an application at the circulation desk.
Teens will help with preparation for children's programs and the summer reading program running from June through August.

| Rockaway Township Historical Trivia - Tuesday, May 7 | |
How well do you know your township? Test your mental mettle in a Rockaway Township Trivia Tournament! Come to the library on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 PM for an epic evening of Jeopardy-style trivia, all about Rockaway Township and Morris County history, current events, and more!This special "game show" meeting of the Historical Society of Rockaway Township is open to the public.
Contestants must be 16+, but any spectators are encouraged to attend as well! Registration is required to play as a contestant. Call 973-627-2344, email rockawaytwplibrary@rtlibrary.org, or visit the library in person to sign up!The grand prize is a copy of Images of America: Rockaway Township, generously provided by the Historical Society of Rockaway Township.
