We are excited that so many programs are up and running already and so
many others are beginning to take shape. Here are a few things to keep
in mind as your team plans your school's art programming:
1. If
your team knows of an artist that they would like to bring into the
classroom, great! Let us know of any planning meetings you set up with
an artist or arts org and we will make as many as our schedules
permit. If your team needs direction or suggestions, don't hesitate to
call, email or set up a meeting with an A@L representative.
2. Arts @ Large will discuss and negotiate costs and budgets with
artists or arts orgs. This allows Teacher Teams to focus on
programming and scheduling details.
3. If your Team has worked
out a schedule and program with an artist or arts org then the artist
must submit a proposal to A@L AT LEAST 2 WEEKS prior to the anticipated
start date. A@L will then run background checks, get W-9 information
and set up a contract.
4. A@L will contact the school lead to confirm that the contract
has been worked out and signed. IF YOUR SCHOOL LEAD HAS NOT BEEN
INFORMED OF A CONFIRMED CONTRACT THEN THERE HAS BEEN A MISCOMMUNICATION
AND THAT ARTIST/PROGRAM WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BEGIN.
Here are some resources that can help during this process:
Arts @ Large Handbook and other helpful resources

Let us know if you have any questions while planning your school's art programming. Thanks!
