FEBRUARY 18, 2012
Howdy!

On Tuesday, February 21, The Kemp at the Forum will be hosting an event with Dick Wallrath, whose inspirational story of redemption and overcoming addiction is told in the new movie,Deep in the Heart. Mr. Wallrath will discuss how his faith and love of his country helped to pull him out of the gutter and into the business world, so he could eventually be in a position to help others. The Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation was established in 2006. Every year, the foundation funds 142 $10,000 scholarships to high school students enrolled in Texas universities.

Mr. Wallrath will speak from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening with a short reception to follow. This free event is co-sponsored by the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundationand the Texoma Planned Giving Council.

Come and listen to a journey of healing galvanized by the power of giving.

Cutting Hurts

The Pentagon has committed to $450 billion in reduced spending over the next 10 years, but may have to come up with a total of $1 trillion in cuts if Congress follows through with deeper reductions. This site lets you try and make your own plan to reduce the budget by choosing some of the most common, interesting or provocative cuts that have been proposed by various parties. I tried it and came up with $287 billion of what I considered "easy" cuts.

This ain't gonna be pretty.
