Observations
We continue with the list:

11. There are no new sins; the old ones just get more publicity.

12. There are worse things than getting a call for a wrong number at 4 AM.  It could be a right number.

13. No one ever says 'It's only a game' when their team is winning.

14. I've reached the age where the happy hour is a nap.

15. Be careful reading the fine print. There's no way you're going to like it.

Videos, Take Three

The week before last I turned you onto some video interviews from T. Rowe Price.

Last week I gave you links to a video of my latest appearance on Good Neighbors with host Sametta Brown.

This week I'm giving you a link to a youtube video that is based on a book I recently reviewed, The Cash in the Hat. As you might deduce, this book has the look and feel of a Dr. Seuss classic. Only this time financial author Mitch Anthony has created a text to teach of the dangers of living beyond your means on credit.

I think you'll enjoy it. Here's the link:
Enjoy.

Stop Stressing
For some reason, Money Magazine sends me a free subscription. I've chosen not to complain. In the May edition, they asked investors, "In the past six months, how often have you looked at your investments?" 18% did so once a week. 22% did so once a day. This tells me something valuable: I need to invest in aspirin, blood pressure medication, and psychiatric hospitals.

Some look at their investments way too much, some don't look at them at all. Either extreme is problematic. Learn my take on things by reading the rest of the article here.

Financial Literacy

The National Foundation for Credit Counseling has released their 2009 survey of Americans' financial literacy. While the survey was done to promote the services of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling and its member agencies, it's hard to discount the core message: many need help with their financial lives. Some need a lot of help.

parting thoughts
Proof Reading

Did you know that the Bible commands you to commit adultery? Or that Google wasn't supposed to be named Google? Here's an article about problems resulting from typos: http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/25419

While I do have my share of grammatical and spelling errors, I have a secret weapon, an unsung hero. Mona Statser, multiple winner of area spelling bees, proofs most of my material before you get to read it.

Thanks, Mona!

So, if something sneaks through, that's likely the part she didn't get to see.

That's all for this week.
