BENDIX AIR DRYER WINTER PROMOTION
The air dryer - installed between the compressor and reservoirs - collects and removes solid, liquid, and vapor contaminants before they enter the air brake system and jeopardize efficient operation.
More than 40 years ago, Bendix revolutionized commercial vehicles by inventing the air dryer to provide clean, dry air to reservoirs, valves and other components, increasing the life of the air brake system, helping to reduce maintenance costs, and preventing system freeze up.
Today, Bendix continues that legacy by expanding our menu of hard working air treatment products to keep you on the road and out of the repair shop. With dozens of years of proven performance backed by extensive testing, patented designs and the industry's most reliable product support system, you can count on genuine Bendix every time.

TECH TIP: HOT TIPS FOR COLD DAYS
COLD FACT: At highway speeds, air temperatures of 25 degrees F or below can freeze water in your air brake lines within 15 minutes and disable your vehicle's braking system.
HOT TIP: Bendix® air dryers and cartridges remove 95% or more of the water vapor from the air that passes through them into your air system. Maintaining your dryer, cartridge, heater and purge valve will allow for proper operation.
COLD FACT: Moisture can seep into the head of the governor and freeze, interfering with governor operation and consequently the proper functioning of the entire air brake system.
HOT TIP: The Bendix® D-2™ governor (Bendix part number 284358) is equipped with high/low temperature o-rings and a weatherproof cover to prevent moisture seepage. (The Bendix® AD-IS® air dryer governor/check valve kit is part number 5004049).
COLD FACT: Discharge line blockage, due to freeze-ups or other causes, may lead to excess build up pressure that can damage the compressor and/or engine.
HOT TIP: The Bendix® ST-4™ safety valve (Bendix part (draining reservoir air) - or freeze closed number 131081) relieves excess pressure above 250 PSI built up in the compressor head, preserving the compressor and the engine. (preventing the reservoir from draining water).
COLD FACT: Low temperatures can really affect the operation of unheated automatic reservoir drain valves. The cold can cause them to freeze open
HOT TIP: Replace your unheated valves with Bendix® DV-2™ heated valves to help prevent freeze-ups.
