Clean Up and Recovery: A Team Effort
Many people in Eastern Iowa have had to endure countless hours of clean up and demolition of their houses and businesses. We were very fortunate in that we were able to get three, 30-foot trailers donated to us by Elmer Fehrle of Elmer's Dual Wheel. This allowed us to get some of our inventory out of the flood zone before it hit. We also rented containers from A-1 Storage to get rebuilt and new units out of the gear shop.
The damage to our building and the loss of inventory was still extensive. The inventory recovery was an important piece of us being able to recover as quickly as we did. Nate Sadler headed up the product recovery effort, along with many others, putting in tireless hours on nights and weekends.
There was a condierable amount of inventory that was gone through meticulously to determine what could be saved and what had to be pitched. We have some items that we will be sold as salvage, so inquire with your sales representative about possible flood recovery product. Brake shoes and FPPF chemicals are the two main products available.
Roy Sadler, founder of company, has been down at the old facility daily overseeing the demolition of the interior of the buildings. Drywall and insulation has been pulled out of both the main building and the gear shop. Pallet racking and shelving is being taken down to clear out the space to be able to possibly rent or sell the property.

Tech Tip: Preventative Maintanance
BIODIESEL FUEL AND BULK TANK MAINTANANCE PROBLEMS ECCESSIVE WATER - Biodiesel fuel tends to attract more water to itself than regular diesel, above ground tanks are especially susceptible to this. Water causes bacteria growth. SOLUTION - Fuel Power, Lubricity W/Fuel Power or Bio Fuel Power. BACTERIA - Excess water will cause bacteria growth and Biodiesel is more susceptible to bacteria growth than regular diesel fuel. Filters will have blackish residue on the filter. SOLUTION - Killem biocide and double dose of Fuel Power. Use Killem once in spring and once in the fall. FILTER PLUGGING - Cooling temperatures will cause soy oil to thicken and can cause Glycerin dropout. Glycerin is the gummy substance that clogs filters. Both of these will cause filter plugging. SOLUTION - Bio Fuel Power will help prevent Glycerin drop out and Bio Winter Additive prevents soy oil from thickening. ULTRA LOW SULFUR FUEL AND BULK TANK MAINTANANCE PROBLEMS > HARD STARTING Ø ENGINE STALLING Ø SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED ENGINE LIFE Ø FUEL PUMP FAILURE Ø REDUCED FUEL MILEAGE Ø INJECTOR FAILURE Ø VALVE STICKING AND PREMATURE FAILURE EPA's recommended lubricity level (HFRR 520) is far below what the engine manufacturers feel is necessary to insure safe, proper engine performance and life (HFRR 460) - lower number is better lubricity. SOLUTION - Total Power, Lubricity W/Fuel Power, Lubricity 100% and RV/Bus/SUV Formula. COOLING SYSTEM MAINTANANCE PROBLEMS - Cooling system scale, green goo, pitted liners and water pump failure. High levels of silicate and nitrites cause these. SOLUTION - 4000 Cooling System Treatment, this is a no silicate and low nitrite formula, pint treats 8 gallons.
