Annette Jones Davidson's Corner
As we continue into this season of thanksgiving I wanted to share a message I read in my daily devotion with you. Too Busy to Give Thanks? Enter into His gates with Thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good: His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. Psalm 100:4-5 NKJV Life has a way of constantly coming at us. Days, hours, and moments are filled with urgent demands requiring our immediate attention. When the demands of life leave us rushing from place to place with scarcely a moment to spare, we may fail to pause and thank our Creator for His gifts. But, whenever we neglect to give proper thanks to the Father, we suffer because of our misplaced priorities. Today, make a special effort to give thanks to the Creator for His blessings. His love for you is eternal, as are His gifts. And it's never too soon-----or too late---to offer Him thanks. LOTTIE MOON I challenge each and every one of you to take the time to thank God everyday for the wonderful things He does for you and yours. Make it a daily priority. Let's go into the New Year with a heart of thanksgiving.

Minister Shanta Goodrum's Corner
So here we are in the most important of the race (The home stretch). As the wise saying goes, "It's not about how one starts a race, it's how he finishes that will matter". Let's close this year even better than we started. I am so happy about all of the things God is still going to do by the end of this year. I know that some of you are in some situations that seem to be overpowering you as time goes by, and furthermore you feel like you're running out of time. Well God is the owner of time so don't give up; let's continue to praise the promised blessing through. If in the event you are in something that feels too heavy; we are a team please feel free to send me an email with your telephone number and I'll call you. We will finish together. I love you all...
Until Next Year,
Minister Shanta' Goodrum

DON'T FORGET TO GIVE! YOU WILL ONLY GAIN BY DOING SO!!!
During this holiday season look for ways to give. The best gift that one can give is the gift of time. When you feel that you have nothing tangible to give to others, consider giving the gift of time.
There are many that are going through some things now and may not necessarily need money but rather a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, a caring heart. Be a giver of time by providing these to hurting people.
For those who want to provide tangible monetary gifts to help reach those around the world, Consider TRINITY BROADCASTING NETWORK and FEED THE CHILDREN as means of reaching millions of people throughout the world.
If you want to support these and don't know how, please check out www.feedthechildren.org for FEED THE CHILDREN. TRINITY BROADCASTING NETWORK (TBN) can be reached by calling 1-888-731-1000 or going to www.tbn.org.
Remember, it is more blessed to give than to receive and God rewards those that feeds the hungry, clothes the naked and/or visit those in prison. His word says when we have done it unto the least of them we have done it unto Him.
In giving to these ministries you have an opportunity to feed those physically and spiritually hungry. Luke 6:38 states ...Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Be a giver!
If you want to give to help spread the gospel on a local level, consider partnering with local churches or helps ministries within your area. Remember whatever you make happen for others God will make happen for you. |

"Giving Back the Love" by Onekia H. Mixon
Where is it? Where did it go? The love. Seems it disappeared throughout the years. Well almost.
December 25th, the day we all know and love, well if you celebrate it. Do you know why we as children and teens love this day? Well, most would say, "Because Mom and Dad buy me exactly what I want". Well, if you are one that doesn't believe that theory then good!
On the other hand, if you are one who believes it keep reading! The REAL reason this day is loved is because of the fact that the Lord in the form of Jesus died. It's not a bad thing! He did it for us, all of us.
When Jesus was crucified he said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". Do you see his love? He forgave us and still does even if we don't give him exactly what he wants. This was his point in creating love, not jut to produce babies or give gifts to people but to keep the "bond" strong. So instead of thinking about what's under the tree this year, try telling someone this..."I love you". It's the cheapest and most lasting gift there is.
Be blessed and have a safe Merry Christmas and a Happy SOBER New Year!
Onekia is the daughter of Bruce and Della Mixon and lives in Minden, LA. She attends Minden High School. She is a member of Greater New Zion Baptist Church, Benton LA where her Pastor is Donald W. Anderson Sr.
Onekia enjoys reading, writing and just being a kid. Thanks Onekia for your contribution to this newsletter and for encouraging others with your words.

Suggested Book of the Month--"GOD'S GONNA MAKE YOU LAUGH: UNDERSTANDING GOD'S TIMING FOR YOUR LIFE (Bishop Noel Jones)
"When we are able to tap into the humorous side of life, the erupting laughter becomes a mighty healing stream."
Bishop Noel Jones
Bishop Jones reminds us that laughter is a part of God's relationship with us. He shares his exciting and challenging truths about God, laughter ,and promises fulfilled.
Bishop Jones lets us know that even while walking through dark times in our lives; while going through many different trials and sufferings, rewards are coming to those that holds on to and trusts in God's faithfulness.
He encourages the readers to watch their worry and uncertainty turn into confident laughter as God shows you what He is up to in your life.

Thank you for taking the time to read and share with us. And as always, we pray God's continued blessings over each of you. These are very trying times for many now with the economy as it is. Please keep the faith and know that with God nothing is impossible. As we put him first in our lives He assures us that He will provide us with everything we need.
Study the word of God for yourself. Read the word of God. Always be ready and willing to share an encouraging word with others.
I leave you with this challenge for the month of December and every month thereafter---treat all you meet with dignity and respect. Be careful how you treat others as you never know who you will need in life and you may be in the midst of angels unaware. Life will change on you without your permission. There's that old saying...the same people you meet going up you will meet coming down so it behooves you to treat everyone as you desire to be treated.
And with the earthquakes, fires, hurricanes, unemployment increasing, loss of homes due to foreclosures and so many other things taking place, give God the glory for whatever you have.
Give Him the glory for the people in your life. Give Him the glory for all things working together for your good. Give Him the glory!
"Tragedies are commonplace. All kinds of diseases, people are slipping away. Economy's down people can't get enough pay but as for me all I can say is thank you Lord for all you've done for me. Folks without homes are in the streets and a drug habit some say they just can't beat...It could have been me outdoors with no food and no clothes..."
Lastly, remember the same things that have happened to others can happen to you but if you continually give God the glory and keep Him first you have absolutely nothing to worry about. It's in the word and I am a living testimony!
Stay Blessed!
