The Abundant Life

John 10:10 - The thief comes to kill, steal and destroy:  I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.

We all know who the thief is.  He wants you to be angry, depressed, ill, to live in poverty, to turn your back on God.  He wants to steal from you everything God has given you and most of all he wants to kill and destroy you and yours.  On the contrary God, who is the giver of life, wants you to have an abundant life. Then the question for each of us becomes are you experiencing the abundant life and if the answer is no, then why not?

I feel that one reason people do not experience the abundant life is because they do not understand what it is and how it is obtained.  Most people would equate the abundant life with having material possessions and money.  They feel the more material things you possess the more abundant your life is.  But is that true?

Let me share my thoughts on the subject with you.  First, the abundant life begins with having a personal relationship with God.  Secondly, it is a balanced life where you prosper in all areas of your life...mind, body, and spirit. Again, I say the abundant life is prosperity in the mind, body, and spirit.  Therefore, if you are broke and disgusted, you are not experiencing the abundant life.  Likewise, if you have plenty of money and material things and are neglecting your health and  relationships, you are still not experiencing the abundant life.  On the other hand you may be in good health and have plenty of money, but your thoughts are not right and your mind is not focused on the things of God.  If so, you still are not experiencing the abundant life.

Listen...In order to experience the abundant life you must:

1.  Have a personal relationship with God because He is the giver of life and owns everything.

2.  You must take care of your body. (Find out how.. It is the temple of the Holy Spirit)

3.  You must allow the Holy Spirit to transform you by the renewing of your mind and become filled with the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit will guide, lead, and comfort you.

4.  You must read and meditate on the Word of God to feed your spirit and to ensure you know God's will and His ways.  Also this is how you get to know God.

5.  You must develop a lifestyle of reading, studying, meditating on the word. Develop a life of prayer, praise, and worship.

6.  You must be willingly obedient to God's word.

7. Last, but certainly not least, you must have a teachable spirit.

If you do the above you will prosper in your mind, body, and spirit and consequently, you will experience the abundant life.

Remember the gifts of God are available to all and you must claim them by accepting and following Christ.

Thanking God for your abundant life,

Minister Shanta Goodrum's Corner

Jesus is Lord All,

As we know the end of the year is nigh.  God has done great things in our country in this month of November and He is not done yet.

While we are praising God for President Barack Obama, HE is opening other doors for US!  God is ready to pour out His blessings on His people in ways that cannot be understood by man.

I want to encourage you to look the part of one who is rich.  That's right...it's time to dress up, look good everyday because we are wealthy through our God.

I trust that you have been fasting and praying; trusting when there seems to be no hope; that you are pushing yourselves not to doubt, still knowing that God is God.  In all of that, Satan has still sent his demons to challenge you by saying that your dreams are just that...dreams.  And yet you've stood.

Well, people of the Almighty God, I do stand in the authority of the Holy Ghost and tell you that the time has come for your breakthrough!!!  When your life's experiences of both spiritual and physical manifestations takes place as it will, do yourselves a huge favor and be a blessing to someone else.  Remember that it is WE that are the lenders to many nations

Until Next Time,
Minister Shanta' Goodrum

POWER BELONGS TO OUR GOD!!!
Greetings!

This is a special edition and will cover a variety of subjects.  We had planned to profile everyday heroes submitted by the readers in this edition.  That will take place later once we receive your submissions.

We encourage you to give God glory in every thing.  We challenge you to give during this season and continually give to help those in need.  We admonish you to study the word of God like never before.  We challenge you to look better than ever before, live better than ever before, talk like you've never talked before, embarking upon a new life.

Read and be blessed!

OUR SEASON OF GIVING

During this holiday season look for ways to give.  The best gift that one can give is the gift of time.  When you feel that you have nothing tangible to give to others, consider giving the gift of time.

There are many that are going through some things now and may not necessarily need money but rather a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, a caring heart.  Be a giver of time by providing these to hurting people.

For those who want to provide tangible monetary gifts to help reach those around the world, Consider TRINITY BROADCASTING NETWORK and FEED THE CHILDREN as means of reaching millions of people throughout the world.

If you want to support these and don't know how, please check out our website at www.regsbooks.org for FEED THE CHILDRENTRINITY BROADCASTING NETWORK (TBN) can be reached by calling 1-888-731-1000 or going to www.tbn.org.

Remember, it is more blessed to give than to receive and God rewards those that feeds the hungry, clothes the naked and/or visit those in prison.  His word says when we have done it unto the least of them we have done it unto Him.

In giving to these ministries you have an opportunity to feed those physically and spiritually hungry.  Luke 6:38 states ...Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom.  For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.  Be a giver!
What Readers Say About "To God Be the Glory"

"In this book, Ms. Mixon shows us that no matter what we do and how difficult and challenging life may get, if we just hold on and have faith in God, healing and deliverance is available to us. Thanks Ms Mixon for sharing your story and message of hope and to God be the Glory!"   --Annette Jones Davidson, Columbia SC 12/19/2007

"Ms. Mixon shares her life's experiences and testimonies which will undoubtedly touch the heart and soul of many women.  She tells her story without hesitation so that others can be blessed.  "To God Be the Glory" was written specifically to encourage those of us who are facing some of our darkest days or weakest moments.  As you read her story may you find assurance that God never fails and will see you through any and all situations." --Deborah Banks, Sisters of the Word Book Club, Inglewood CA

"In my opinion this book was very exciting and keeps the reader wanting more. This book will make you laugh and cry. Knowing Ms. Mixon personally and knowing of the trials and difficulties she's had to overcome, I can only say "To God Be the Glory" as it is truly God that is taking her to the level others have only dreamt of. It is my prayers that this book becomes a best seller as many need to hear and read the messages contained in it."
--Felonesecia W. West, Minden LA 12/19/07

"My sister Regina, you really had something to do with all of these blessings that I have received from God. Just in case you didn't realize it one of or some of the prayers you sent up were for me and God heard your prayers. I am writing to tell you that I'm so happy for you. There are not too many people that could have gone through what you went through and still stand firm for the Lord. You are a mighty woman of God...By the way, men love your book too."
--Malcolm Minnieweather, Inmate, Collinston LA

"Regina, many times I myself thought I was strange, or nuts or crazy. Because I would always say and still do what God says. To hear and to have read your story was truly an inspiration to me as well as encouragement to press on towards the high calling of Jesus Christ. I too have been blessed with a vision of a ministry that God birthed years ago into my spirit. Hearing your story helps to remove the fears and encourages me to press on."   --Mr. Kevin Morris Sr., Inmate, Collinston LA

Suggested Book of the Month--"THE GREAT INVESTMENT--Faith, Family and Finance" -- Bishop T. D. Jakes

In this book Bishop Jakes presents to you the three aspects that are essential to the life traveler in order to be happy and successful on this journey called life.  "We can only carry a limited number of bags if we are to move efficiently and effectively to our desired destination.  Too much baggage and we are weighed down, caught up in the minutiae of a mundane existence.  Too little, however, and we lack the necessities to sustain us on our trip.  I believe that there are three bags God wants us to carry; faith in Him, for the hard times; family, for the fulfillment of intimate and interpersonal needs; and finances, through which one acquires the luxury of options.  Faith, family and finances---a three fold cord that is not easily broken.  If you can carry these three and not destroy one in the pursuit of another, nothing is impossible to achieve.  Just three things for a lifelong trip, but what a powerful three they are, all to help you fulfill God's magnificent plan for you."

An older book yet the message is very timely.  Available at online bookstores.

UNITED WE STAND

September 11, 2001 was a wake up call to people throughout the land.
Maybe God is trying to tell us all that divided we fall but United We Stand.

Since that date, many forgot the difference
As far as race, creed, or color
People merley started looking at others
As just another sister or brother

Churches were packed for a while
All over the land
But apparently some have since forgotten
That divided we fall
And United We Stand!

Every day is a day of thanksgiving
A day of rejoicing for being among the living
There are no big "I's" or little "you's"
As there is plenty of work for each of us to do.

There should be new meaning to life-- of God and family
Instead of taking so much for granted
Realizing that one day people and things will no longer be.

Never hesitate to do what you can to lend a helping hand
Because folks once more and again
Divided we fall but
United We Stand.

To the people in our cities, parishes, counties and states---Our country as a whole
You're great people, each and every one
We really need to learn to work together more
As we all have our races to run.

No matter where we may roam
There is never, ever any place like home
And by each of us doing our part or what we can
We will stand tall as United We Stand.

When all has been said and done
And battles are fought and victories won
Together we can and will accomplish much for this great land.  Because we will not fall,
We will UNITE AND STAND!!!

Our Thanks to You

Thank you for taking the time to read and share with us.  And as always, we pray God's continued blessings over each of you and encourage you to say daily, many times thoughout the day, "To God Be the Glory".  I give you yet one last challenge for this month-- instead of focusing on your problems take the time to focus on the goodness of God.  And as you go about praising Him, encourage someone else.

If you don't know the words to the song, "I AM BLESSED" (Reeds Temple Choir), look them up and sing the song.  A part of it says...Lord, Lord, Lord, you've been blessing me.  When I look where you have brought me, you sho been blessing me... and I can tell the world that I am blessed.  We all are!  Recognize who and Whose you are.

Lastly, when the devil speaks to you that we are in a recession, tell him you're not participating because your father is rich.  When he whispers the lies in your ear that you are not going to make it, put him in check.  Remember Philippians 4:19.

  Stay Blessed!

Sincerely,

Regina Mixon
