"Wisdom vs Knowledge"

It has been said that knowledge is power.  But is that really true?  I say it's half true.  Knowledge is only power when it is applied appropriately and in a Godly way.  We may know many things, can recite many facts, but what good does it do when you do not apply what you know appropriately to life?  None.

Let's think about it for a moment.  What good does it do if you have the knowledge that saving money from your monthly salary can be extremely beneficial, but you spend every dime each month?  What benefit is there in knowing you need to lose ten pounds to lower your blood pressure, however, you never make the effort to lose the ten pounds.

You have the knowledge that losing ten pounds will lower your blood pressure and you also have the knowledge that saving money monthly will be fruitful.  But where is the power?  The truth is there is no power if you do not apply what you know.  You must put into action what you know.

Knowledge is simply having the facts, but wisdom is applying those facts to life.

So get the facts and take action!

Minister Shanta Goodrum's Corner

Jesus is Lord All,

It is always an honor for me to be able to encourage the flock of God.  This month I would like to encourage you to pray more.  Prayer is the only thing that can destroy the yolk of doubt and unbelief.

So many of us are in transitional stages right now and doubt is growing heavier.  I know what it's like to have faith in God and yet feel nervous and doubtful.

The year is not over and the promise is yet on the way.  Pray it through.  We know that God is not a liar and everything about Him is true.  We can't leave room for the devil to tell us differently.  We have to pray.

We must not tear the line of communication between us and Heaven.  When we pray we feel powerful and untouchable because God is there inhabiting our praise.  It is on our knees that we are reminded that no weapon formed against us will be able to prosper.

It is on our knees that we hear God saying, "lo I will be with you even until the ends of the earth".

Let's get on our knees and hear our God.  He is about to move mightily for us.  I wish that you could experience what I am feeling right now as I am writing this message to you.

Saints, we must remember that no matter what happens we serve a true and living God who wants to hear from and talk to us. Remember, POWER BELONGS TO GOD!!!

Until Next Time,
Minister Shanta' Goodrum
Greetings!

This edition of our newsletter focuses on the power of prayer.  Minister Goodrum's article encourages you to make prayer a daily part of your life.

It is our prayer that you are encouraged by the words you read.  And, if you like what you read in the newsletters and/or eblasts, we ask that you share them with others.

Due to some situations beyond our control we will delay the weekly eblasts until a later date.  We ask that you be patient with us as we are still in the learning stages.

We want to put out positive, encouraging messages to benefit each reader.  Keep praying!  Keep standing!  Keep moving forward even if you have to inch your way.  By the inch, life's a cinch.  By the yard, life can get pretty hard.  Inch your way through.

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE NOVEMBER 4TH!!!

Election Day gives each of us the opportunity to voice ourselves at a most crucial time.  Please read and study the issues and cast your ballot on November 4, 2008.

Encourage your family and friends to exercise their right to vote. One vote does make a difference!

What Readers Say About "To God Be the Glory"

"In this book, Ms. Mixon shows us that no matter what we do and how difficult and challenging life may get, if we just hold on and have faith in God, healing and deliverance is available to us. Thanks Ms Mixon for sharing your story and message of hope and to God be the Glory!"   --Annette Jones Davidson, Columbia SC 12/19/2007

"Ms. Mixon shares her life's experiences and testimonies which will undoubtedly touch the heart and soul of many women.  She tells her story without hesitation so that others can be blessed.  "To God Be the Glory" was written specifically to encourage those of us who are facing some of our darkest days or weakest moments.  As you read her story may you find assurance that God never fails and will see you through any and all situations." --Deborah Banks, Sisters of the Word Book Club, Inglewood CA

"In my opinion this book was very exciting and keeps the reader wanting more. This book will make you laugh and cry. Knowing Ms. Mixon personally and knowing of the trials and difficulties she's had to overcome, I can only say "To God Be the Glory" as it is truly God that is taking her to the level others have only dreamt of. It is my prayers that this book becomes a best seller as many need to hear and read the messages contained in it."
--Felonesecia W. West, Minden LA 12/19/07

"My sister Regina, you really had something to do with all of these blessings that I have received from God. Just in case you didn't realize it one of or some of the prayers you sent up were for me and God heard your prayers. I am writing to tell you that I'm so happy for you. There are not too many people that could have gone through what you went through and still stand firm for the Lord. You are a mighty woman of God...By the way, men love your book too."
--Malcolm Minnieweather, Inmate, Collinston LA

"Regina, many times I myself thought I was strange, or nuts or crazy. Because I would always say and still do what God says. To hear and to have read your story was truly an inspiration to me as well as encouragement to press on towards the high calling of Jesus Christ. I too have been blessed with a vision of a ministry that God birthed years ago into my spirit. Hearing your story helps to remove the fears and encourages me to press on."   --Mr. Kevin Morris Sr., Inmate, Collinston LA
