Annette Jones Davidson's Corner
"Wisdom vs Knowledge"
It has been said that knowledge is power. But is that really true? I say it's half true. Knowledge is only power when it is applied appropriately and in a Godly way. We may know many things, can recite many facts, but what good does it do when you do not apply what you know appropriately to life? None.
Let's think about it for a moment. What good does it do if you have the knowledge that saving money from your monthly salary can be extremely beneficial, but you spend every dime each month? What benefit is there in knowing you need to lose ten pounds to lower your blood pressure, however, you never make the effort to lose the ten pounds.
You have the knowledge that losing ten pounds will lower your blood pressure and you also have the knowledge that saving money monthly will be fruitful. But where is the power? The truth is there is no power if you do not apply what you know. You must put into action what you know.
Knowledge is simply having the facts, but wisdom is applying those facts to life.
So get the facts and take action!

Minister Shanta Goodrum's Corner
Jesus is Lord All,
I'd like to take a moment to encourage order. As Christians, we are often defeated due to a lack of order. Believe it or not, the devil and all of his demons and imps are submissive to order. They have a one track mind. Their goal is to defeat and accuse us; to smite us and even to kill us.
It is true that trials come and they make us stronger but sometimes they are the things we need in order to tear us down to get order in our lives. We for some reason call them trials.
It takes a great army of demons to get us down and an even larger army of Christians to help us to get up. This is not because Satan has more power. It's because we have to carefully select the positions in which we choose to go for rescue.
Well all, today is a new day. Let's stand together in Christian unity and love. I want to encourage you to follow the order of the Lord. We need consistent, healthy prayer lives, along with severe studying of the Bible.
Become a person who refuses to be beat by the devil. Power belongs to our God! Let's go beyond the veil soldiers and fall in line with our Captain.
Until Next Time,
Minister Shanta' Goodrum | |

What Readers Say About "To God Be the Glory"
"In this book, Ms. Mixon shows us that no matter what we do and how difficult and challenging life may get, if we just hold on and have faith in God, healing and deliverance is available to us. Thanks Ms Mixon for sharing your story and message of hope and to God be the Glory!" --Annette Jones Davidson, Columbia SC 12/19/2007
"Ms. Mixon shares her life's experiences and testimonies which will undoubtedly touch the heart and soul of many women. She tells her story without hesitation so that others can be blessed. "To God Be the Glory" was written specifically to encourage those of us who are facing some of our darkest days or weakest moments. As you read her story may you find assurance that God never fails and will see you through any and all situations." --Deborah Banks, Sisters of the Word Book Club, Inglewood CA
"In my opinion this book was very exciting and keeps the reader wanting more. This book will make you laugh and cry. Knowing Ms. Mixon personally and knowing of the trials and difficulties she's had to overcome, I can only say "To God Be the Glory" as it is truly God that is taking her to the level others have only dreamt of. It is my prayers that this book becomes a best seller as many need to hear and read the messages contained in it." --Felonesecia W. West, Minden LA 12/19/07
"My sister Regina, you really had something to do with all of these blessings that I have received from God. Just in case you didn't realize it one of or some of the prayers you sent up were for me and God heard your prayers. I am writing to tell you that I'm so happy for you. There are not too many people that could have gone through what you went through and still stand firm for the Lord. You are a mighty woman of God...By the way, men love your book too." --Malcolm Minnieweather, Inmate, Collinston LA
"Regina, many times I myself thought I was strange, or nuts or crazy. Because I would always say and still do what God says. To hear and to have read your story was truly an inspiration to me as well as encouragement to press on towards the high calling of Jesus Christ. I too have been blessed with a vision of a ministry that God birthed years ago into my spirit. Hearing your story helps to remove the fears and encourages me to press on." --Mr. Kevin Morris Sr., Inmate, Collinston LA

About "Ke Ke" West
(Pictured Ke Ke and grandmother, Gladys Kinsey West Jones)
Ke Ke is a professional hair stylist at Woo's Beauty and Barber Shop in Minden, La. She is the mother of one son, Kamron, age 7. "Ke Ke", to say the name is to know the person. She is energetic, friendly, and willing to please her customers. Hair has been one of her hobbies every since she was a teenager. Hobbies include being with her friends, bowling, talking and just having fun. As a small child she experimented on anyone's head that would let her. One of her mother's friends said when Ke Ke finished her hair she thought she looked like Tina Turner with all of the hair she had weaved in, but she wore it with pride. Ke Ke was supposed to only grease her now deceased grandmother's head and ended up cutting it and styling it. Needless to say the grandmother was not too happy about all of this. She went through several mishaps to perfect her trade. Her professionalism and love for what she does draws many customers to her from various states when traveling through Minden. It has been stated by many that Ke Ke is one of the best stylists in the city. For appointments, please call her at (318) 377-4048 or (318) 288-6096. Kudos to St. Matthews B. C., Los Angeles CA
On August 6 - 8, 2008, The Women's Ministry of The St. Matthews Baptist Church located at 1534 W. Vernon Ave, Los Angeles CA 90062, held their Annual Retreat. at Rancho Capistrano The theme for the retreat was, "Women of God, 2008, A New Beginning--Loose It and Let It Go" with scripture emphasis taken from Ephesians 4:22 and Philemon 3:12. This was an awesome experience!!!
There was food, fun, fellowship, prayer, games, praise and worship, exercises, and dynamic teachings each of the days. Shawn Greene, (Pastor Green's wife) served as the Praise and Worship Leader, along with April McClellan, LaVergne Williams, Vanessa King, Vera Marsh, LaNiesia Green-Gilbert, and Ora Slush.
We prayed together, laughed together, played together, learned together and grew together!
Ministers of Holy Communion were Cassie Frierson Jones (Laguna Christian Center, Elk Grove, CA), Lydia Bryant, Ora Hunter, Justine Clardy, Sylvia Marsh, Terriann Hinds, and Barbara Noble.
Dr. Susie Jones of Yahweh's House of Prayer and Worship for All People, was the speaker for both Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
There are many great actresses at St. Matthews as we witnessed from the performances done on Thursday during the breakout sessions. Teams were established and each one's assignment was to discuss chosen topics. "Unity", "Overcoming Obstacles" and "Praise/Worship/Intercessory Prayer" were the chosen ones. All I can say is for those that were there we were really blessed by the messages as well as each team's means of relaying them.
Special thanks to Sandra Beard-Davis, President of the Women's Ministry; Linda Kinchelow; Prophetess Ora Slush; Jewell Duff and all of the women of St. Matthews Baptist Church for welcoming and embracing me and the other visitors. Thank you Linda Kinchelow for inviting me and I will be back.
