MAS Annual General Meeting

The Multifaith Action Society's next Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday, September 26, at 7:00pm at the Oakridge United Church in Vancouver (305 W 41 Ave). The AGM gives the Society an opportunity to report on its activities over the past year, and for members to ask questions and provide suggestions as to how the Society should proceed in the year to come. Refreshments will be served. If you intend to take part in this year's AGM, please RSVP your attendance to Marcus at admin@multifaithaction.org. If you are unable to attend personally and would like to send a proxy in your stead, please download and complete this proxy form and send it to the email address given above.

BC Thanksgiving Food Drive September 12 - 17

The Multifaith Action Society is proud to participate in the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive. Initiated by the Church of Latter Day Saints, the BCTFD is a province wide non-denominational project and is open to all interested individuals, community groups, religious organizations, businesses or others who wish to join in helping attend to the needs of the hungry in BC. Last year, they raised 14,543 lbs of food in BC and are hoping to substantially increase the amount collected this year. If you would like to help in your community, please contact info@bctfooddrive.org for more information. The food collected goes to local food banks. In Surrey, the Church of Latter Day Saints, the Sikh Gurdwaras listed below and World Sikh Organization are working together to collect food for the Surrey Food Bank. If you are in Surrey, you can drop off your donations all week long at any of the following Sikh Gurdwaras (click on the address to view a map of the location):

International Peace Day Conference

The Global Clergy Association of Canada, Northwood United Church, Multifaith Action Society and other Greater Vancouver interfaith organizations have joined together to organize a one-day event to commemorate the International Day of Peace. The event will carry the theme "Multifaith Movement Fosters Global Peace," and will take place at the Northwood United Church in Surrey (8855 156 St.). Kids Packing Lunches for the Homeless

Children and families are invited to the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara on September 24, from 5:00pm-7:00pm for children to help prepare bagged lunches for the homeless. We will start with dinner from 5pm-5:30pm, followed by some story telling and a conversation with the children regarding homelessness before moving on to making the lunches. The event will be a chance to have fun, connect with people from different faith communities and do good work in the community. 2012 Multifaith Social & Calendar Launch

Join us as we celebrate the launch of the 2012 Multifaith Calendar: Heart and Soul and kick off our Multifaith Socials program! Enjoy refreshments and meet artists, members of the Multifaith Action Society, and members of other faith communities.
This event will take place at the Northwood United Church in Surrey (8855 156 St.), from 4:00-6:00pm. More information will be provided as we draw closer to the date.
