Proverb, is the title of the first post on our new Astia Notes blog - yet another
vehicle to stay connected with the Astia community. In the coming months, we look forward to
spotlighting members of the Astia community here; so stay tuned and join the
conversations.
As you will have noticed, we
have many moving parts at Astia and it may have you wondering - just how can I

Astia Company Spotlight
LearnVest is a free, local online personal finance community for women with access to experts for personal financial support. LearnVest drives users with comparison tools for women to see where they fall against their peers, and then provides access to educational videos, newsletters, and financial services. About the Founder/CEO:
Alexa von Tobel is a Harvard College Graduate who worked at Morgan Stanley on their proprietary trading desk before leaving to be the Head of Business Development at Drop.io, a venture backed start-up in NYC. She enrolled in Harvard Business School last Fall only to take a leave of absence to launch LearnVest, after it received a national award. Kathleen Toland currently serves as a Strategic Account Representative with Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), providing product development solutions to Fortune 5000 high-tech manufacturers in the Semiconductor and Medical Device industries. Kathleen has over 13 years of sales and business development expertise; working for and with emerging growth companies.
Kathleen has been involved with the Astia community for over a decade, beginning 1999 when she initiated the process of building the first mentorship program for the Women's Technology Cluster. She has supported countless companies over the years; helping to refine business plans, craft fund-raising pitches, negotiate critical business development relationships and define winning sales plans. Kathleen has over 13 years of sales and business development expertise, helping a broad spectrum of companies identify and address critical business challenges. Kathleen has developed a deep level of expertise in high technology, legal, manufacturing.

The University of Cambridge is offering an exciting new opportunity to aspiring entrepreneurs to gain a recognised qualification in Entrepreneurship. The Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurship, jointly created by Professional Studies at the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)* and the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) based at Judge Business School, will start in September 2009.
