A time to meet with your peers...
BOT meeting
National Convention is a time for organizational meetings as well. Please plan on attending some of these, and lending your support to this mostly volunteer organization.

Meetings that have been allotted space at this year's convention include most of all the national membership meeting, a traditional New England townhall style meeting where everyone gets their say!!

Other meetings open to all members include the Board of Trusteees, the Regional Vice Presidents, the Chapter Presidents and the Water For Humanity fund.

This year we are adding to the roster: planning meetings for the 2009 convention and for our 2011 50th Anniversary.

There are three meeting rooms, plus a large hall, set aside for various meetings. If you are part of a group who wishes to meet during convention, please let the convention committee know so they can schedule time for you.

What Else is Happening?

Yes, it's ASD's national convention and yes it is a time to learn new dowsing techniques...but what else happens at this annual event? Take a look below...
A Random Survey...
This year our comedian dowser Bruce Irwin, along with Bill Bonnell - both trustees as well - are preparing a special dowsing course for your relaxation and fun. Kind of like the exercise routes in local parks...only this one exercises your dowsing abilities. You'll get to navigate through the course and learn as you go!!

Mo the clownA good sense of humor is always welcome...it's going to carry through in our evening announcements, which will be moderated by our well-known dowsing clowns Alan Handelsman and Mo the Clown!
Our Speaker Schedule is now online...
So we all sit there in the auditorium each night, dowsing away to see which of the equally fascinating lectures we need to see most...

Well, this year we're giving you a headstart!! Pop onto our website, to see a listing of who's speaking when, Saturday through Tuesday morning... So far it's only the list, and you'll have to trust to your memory about each speaker, but bios and lecture details are scheduled to get up by the end of June!!

Workshop details have been on-line for quite some time now. Don't forget to check out what longer, more intense events you really want to learn about!

saving moneyWays to Cut Costs
If finances are a factor in your attendance, we have some tips:

Volunteer to assist at the convention. Your convention fee is reduced per the number of hours you volunteer. Send your request to: volunteerform@dowsers.org

Apply to your chapter president for one of the 8 regional GOH scholarships that will be given out; the scholarship covers the convention registration fee.

Check out local campsites. There are a number in the area. There are also inexpensive motels nearby. Click here for inexpensive housing options

If you're not a member - join!! ASD members get a significant reduction in registration and workshop fees. Click here for membership information

As for local sports if you want to tear yourself away from the convention itself: Please note that Killington shareholders voted that only those with a room key to a room in the Grand Hotel could use the pool; condo renters can use those pools; there are many local water holes, featuring Vermont's great mountain streams, and these are all free!!
