Birthday
Can you believe it!! Our beloved ASD will be turning 50 in 2011.

Your Board of Trustees is starting the planning now and wants to know your ideas. We'll be celebrating at all levels of the organization - local, regional and national. We want to celebrate with events, articles and historical material.

Name
the Presidents!!
George Weller
This is George Weller, our current ASD president. How many other ASD presidents can you name?

The first person who submits the most presidents' names, with their years of service, will receive the authentic Joe Smith hand-turned brass pendulum shown at the start of this newsletter.

Actually, this is an information request as well! We want to assemble a full list of our past presidents and are hoping someone might already have such a list, or parts of one, in their possession.

We have some true dowsing immortals in this list and if you have a favorite among them, and would like to write an article on their work, please let us know.

Bring the kids, bring your friends - be sure to bring yourself!! The Dowsers have both coasts covered this summer!! Whether you want to head to the beaches of California or the woods of Vermont - We have dowsing events for the entire family!!

Both dowsing get togethers have on-line websites where you can check out what events are taking place, housing options, who's presenting - and register right away. The West Coast Conference has a discounted early registration ending May 12 and National has some other goodies planned.

ASD also has some other events coming up, including plans for our 2009 convention and our 2011 50th Anniversary!
KillingtonNational Convention
Just look at this setting!! It is a dowser's heaven - long stretches of lawn for labyrinths, basic schools, water dowsing, ley line checking, nature spirit contacting - you name the activity, there's a spot!!

This is the Killington Grand Hotel and Resort, Killington, VT - where the 2008 National Convention is being held from August 6 - 13. The schedule includes an option of pre and post convention workshops besides the 3 days of convention itself. There'll be events for kids, great community - and ASD's annual membership meeting, where everyone's opinions are weighed in for our next year's plans.

Check out our on-line reservation service. It includes a listing of all available workshps and suggestions for where to stay:

Some folks call this event a "Summer Camp for Dowsers!" The theme this year is "Dowsing: Our Resonance with Earth." Activities include the Harry Potter Mystery School for kids, over 60 lectures and a trip to a local mystery vortex site.

The West Coast Conference takes place at the University of California, College Eight, Santa Cruz, CA from July 4-9.

If you go to the WC website and register by May 12, you'll earn a substantial discount for this event.

Sharon CohenConvention 2009
The National Convention is going national in 2009!! The location of the convention will still be in New England but the folks organizing it will come from across the USA.

Sharon Cohen is the Northern Illinois Dowsers' vice president and a dowsing instructor for educational groups. She will be co-chairing the event (the other co-chair will be announced soon).

Sharon is seeking a team of volunteers drawn from many dowsing modalities and locations. Her goal is to have solid regional and dowsing specialty representation, and to explore the different dowsing themes that interest different sections of our country.

Meetings will be held by teleconferencing. If you would like to volunteer for this committee, contact Sharon at (224) 595-8369 or by email at sharon@endlesspossibilities2.com
Quotes from our own dowsing greats
Everything is known in that big library in the sky. My L-rods are my library card. - Tony Gehringer

I believe I've found a group of potentially the most powerful people on earth. The good news: it's you, the dowsers. The bad news: you don't know it. - Raymon Grace

....from The American Dowser, Winter 2007-2008

Thanks for being a part of our national dowsing community!!
We hope you will take part in some of the activities listed here. Dowsers learn best in hands-on situations and the summer's dowsing get-togethers, and our other upcoming events, are excellent ways to practice this subtle science in a friendly and receptive community of like-minded folks. See you soon!
