Phone call anyone?
Reading Youth Soccer has a new automated phone message broadcast system. While I'll always communicate by email as soon as I can, I'm going to try out this handy tool for occasional last minute updates (ie Coach running late or game cancelled due to field conditions). I encourage you to sign up your phone (ideally your cell) to get team specific last minute messages. Just dial:

Practice Schedule
Near Term (Until we get practice schedule) 
Practice (Scrimmage): Wednesday, September 5th, 5:45 to 7:15, Castine
Game: Saturday, September 8th, Tewksbury - Arrive by 10:10, Game at 10:30
After this week, practices will go to Sundays 4-5:30 PM and Tuesdays at 5:45 to 7:15PM at Castine. |

- Select 'Reading United' from the "Organizations" drop down at the top left of the page
- Select 'U12 Girls Travel' from the 'All Leagues' drop down on the top right
- Select 'RUSC 3B' from the 'All Teams' drop down in the second row of the header

Tewksbury or Bust, 9/8 at 10:30am

Our first game is against Tewksbury, this Saturday, September 8th at 10:30. Most weeks, you can get the directions from SportsManager (above), but somehow Tewksbury missed out. Here's what the coach gave me:
Location:8v8 Field, 295 North St, Tewksbury.
From 495 N (i.e. Rte 3N to 495N)
Exit 39
Straight at the Lights onto International Place
Left at the end of the road onto North Street
Take a left IMMEDIATELY after the RR Tracks
Bear right at the end of the road to the Jason Maaser Complex (Upper Fields)
From 495 S (i.e. 93 N to 495 S)
Exit 39
Left of the exit ramp
Left onto International Place
Left at the end of the road onto North Street

Practices - Please bring an inflated ball (size 4) and water
Games - Players - No Jewelry of any type please. Shin pads are required. Cleats are recommended by please make sure they are soccer cleats (no cleat in from center).
Games - Spectators - Please sit on the fan side of the field. No spectators behind the nets or on the player side. Please do not address the referee. Finally - encouraging the team is great - but try not to direct them (as we will have 3 coaches calling out advice from the other side of the field - and this can be confusing for the players.
Attendance - I know the girls will come when they can. I would appreciate it if you send me an email when you think will not be at a game. |
