New Aquatic Plant Arrivals For This Spring!
April 21, 2008
Greetings!

The weather this year has ranged from freezing to high 80's making it extremely difficult to gauge the actual arrival of spring. To put all this confusion to rest, I have simply declared...Spring Is Here! After all a "Garden Goddess" should have some authority on this matter.

Spring is a glorious time for water gardeners. The koi are awaking from hibernation (starving, of course), the aquatic plants are just beginning their growth cycle for the year, even the lilies are pushing up pads right now. We have some new varieties of aquatics this year that I am excited about. Lists won't show you how beautiful they are but I have highlighted a few below but for a complete list of availability see our 2008 Aquatic Plant List.

Now is also the time to get that pond cleaned out and make it look great. If you prefer to do it yourself we have a Spring Cleanout Guide that you can download. This can get pretty messy and highly labor intensive so if you want to skip the headache contact me at swalker@backyardconcept.com and we will send the "boys" out to clean it up for you.

It would not be spring time in Texas if we didn't have a good solid ALGAE BLOOM! If you have algae you are not alone. There are several ways of dealing with Algae. Check out Algae Control Suggestions.
