We say Goodbye and Best of Luck...Elizabeth Cifu has only been a part of Grace for a few months but in that time she has thrown herself into the life of our congregation. She volunteered at the Reception desk on Wednesday mornings. She was confirmed on May 6 by Bishop Miller. She has also been a member of the Book Club. So it is with mixed emotions that we say good-bye to her this week as she embarks on another stage of her journey. This fall, she will be a member of the Episcopal Service Corps group in Davis, CA, where she will continue to discern God's call in her life. The ESC "helps young adults discern the inner 'voice' that is calling them to their life's work, and to develop the skills to listen and respond through a life of service." We thank her for being with us these past few months and we wish her Godspeed on her journey. Elizabeth, you will be in our prayers. If you would like more information about the Episcopal Service Corps, visit their website: http://www.episcopalservicecorps.org/- Jonathan Welcome Madison Marathon Runners If the weather is not too hot, the Madison Marathon will run by Grace this Sunday. We plan to welcome hot runners with a cool chance to run through the Sprinklers of Grace! There will be an absence of parking spots around Grace, but a plethora of good cheer. Summer Coffee Hours Like Coffee Hour? Consider volunteering to host one Sunday. This entails making coffee (provided) and/or bringing ice tea as well as lemonade and perhaps one finger food item to share. Minimal set up and clean up are involved. More detailed suggestions are available on the Summer Coffee Hour Guidelines sheet. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board next to the coffee pots. Sign up for Vacation Bible School June 18-22 With Take Me to the Water kids age 3 through grade 5 will dive into stories from the Bible that use water to show God's gift of life and blessing. Children will explore the use of water in Bible times as well as water issues around the world today. As they participate in lively worship, music, Bible memory and creative response activities, children will understand that God is the source of life. Just as God provided life-giving water in these stories, God continues to be the source of life and sustenance for us today. Mark your calendar for June 18-22, 9 a.m. - noon for Vacation Bible School! To make this a go, weneed a director or co-director, six other adults and several youth to volunteer during VBS.
