Parents and Kids - grab your Easter baskets!
For an Easter egg hunt Easter Morning! We'll gather in the Guild Hall at 9:15 a.m. for a light breakfast followed by an egg hunt. After the hunt we will travel downstairs for Family Gathering Time and Godly Play.
Adult Formation Resumes April 15 with Special Guest John Francis
One day in 1983, John Francis stepped out on a walk. For the next 22 years, he trekked and sailed around North and South America, carrying a message of respect for the Earth - for 17 of those years, without speaking. During his monumental, silent trek, he earned an MA in environmental studies and a PhD in land resources.
Today his Planetwalk foundation consults on sustainable development and works with educational groups to teach kids about the environment.
His talks are funny, thoughtful, and graced with the occasional banjo. You will no doubt be inspired.
End of the Year Programming Meeting
Hello Parents!
The end of the program year is fast approaching, and I would like to hold a parent meeting as a time to share feedback and thoughts on the year- as well as any ideas you may have for the future. I have scheduled this to be on May 20 after church in the Godly Play room. We will provide lunch, and the nursery care workers will be next door (in the family gathering room) to watch and play with the kids during our meeting. Please put this date on your calendar now if you still have it open! I hope to get as much feedback and input as possible from you, so if you already know that you can't make it, let me know and we can arrange to chat another time or something else that works better for you (email, phone call, etc). Thanks! And happy warm weather,
Lauren
TAKE ME TO THE WATER! VBS June 18-22 With Take Me to the Water kids age 3 through grade 5 will dive into stories from the Bible that use water to show God's gift of life and blessing. Children will explore the use of water in Bible times as well as water issues around the world today. As they participate in lively worship, music, Bible memory and creative response activities, children will understand that God is the source of life. Just as God provided life-giving water in these stories, God continues to be the source of life and sustenance for us today. Mark your calendar for June 18-22, 9 a.m. - noon for Vacation Bible School! To make this a go, weneed a director or co-director, six other adults and several youth to volunteer during VBS. If you can help make this important ministry happen, please contact Ruth Kearley (family@standrews-madison.org or 729-4050).
