Office Update
Hello, I will be out of the office from January 15 - 23 as I travel to St. Louis to assist my sister with the birth of her second child - happening right now as I type this!  (I'll actually be spending major time with her four-year-old son who is obsessed with duck hunting, so it should be quite the interesting week.)  While I am away, I will be sending This Week At Grace on the 16th and GraceNotes on the 20th remotely.  If you have items you would like included in either of those mailings, please have TWAG info to me electronically by Sunday the 15th and GraceNotes items to me by January 19.  Thank you!

St. Francis House Update
Grace welcomes St. Francis House!
In preparation for the redevelopment of the St. Francis House property at 1001 University Avenue, Episcopal Campus Ministry at UW will move to Grace Church for the next year and a half.

Currently the staff includes two part-time employees. Beth Wroblewski (a member of Grace) is Interim Administrator and Kate McKey is responsible for programming. At present, they will share an office upstairs in the office suite. We are currently searching for a full-time chaplain, and hope that we will call someone in the next couple of months.

Episcopal services for college students will be held at Grace on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. beginning later this month. The piano from St. Francis House will also make its home at Grace which will require a temporary removal of two pews.

Please welcome Beth and Kate if you see them around. We will continue to inform the parish of developments in the chaplain search and with the building project.

- Jonathan

Coffee Hour Perks Again with your Hosting Help
Please consider taking a turn to keep our Coffee Hour perking. Hosts set up before the 10 a.m. service and clean-up afterward. Hosting takes a couple or three people and not much time. It's a great way to get to know others or contribute as a family or group. Hosts do not need to provide food, although anyone is welcome to contribute food. Please contact Corrie (corrienorman1959@yahoo.com) if you'd like to host, contribute food, or have questions. A thank-you to Carol Schmid and Joyce Pollock for volunteering as lead hosts on January 8 and 15.

Wednesday Mornings at Grace
Mary Ann Cook has dutifully served as a volunteer in the downstairs reception office, known humorously as the "Fish Bowl," for many Wednesdays.  Now, the time has come for her to focus on her new role as Senior Warden, leaving the opportunity for someone new to fill her spot.

Volunteering in the Fish Bowl is a wonderful way to be an active part of the ministry of Jesus Christ through Grace.  If you are available to serve Wednesday mornings from 9 until noon, please contact Jody in the church office to learn more.  Short-term or long-term commitments are welcomed.

Looking ahead
We will need short-term volunteers in the Fish Bowl for Monday mornings, 9 - noon, from February 20 through March 19, and Fridays from 9 - noon, February 17 through March 16.  Please contact Jody if you can serve any of those dates.

Home Health United seeks Participants and Volunteers
"Do you have a parent, grandparent, friend or neighbor that you feel may need help staying in their home?  Home Health United's new program, S.A.F.E. at Home - Safety Assessments for the Elderly, is currently looking for participants to receive a free in-home safety assessment.  The complimentary program, which includes the assessment, recommendations, and safety aids including pill boxes and night lights, is available to any Dane County resident age 65 and older.  Volunteers are also needed to perform the assessments.  If you would like more information, or know of someone in need of the program, please call 608-223-7970.
