Divine Passion!
Isaac Munene

As we have been talking about the Holy Spirit during the last few weeks, there seems to be a divine passion that has begun to be ignited in hearts throughout the congregation. The verse in 2 Cor 13:14, which mentions we are to be blessed with the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, is not only becoming a reality in many of us but is also stirring up a deep desire to sit at the feet of the Master and just be with Him.

This last Sunday, after a time of worship that unleashed a cry of "come Lord", the Lord showed us that He is running after us. How encouraging to know that if we draw near to God, He will also draw near to us! Deep is calling unto deep! A passionate God is running after a passionate bride that longs for Him! And the intimacy and fellowship will only mean glory filling the earth.

The Lord's word to the Ephesian Church, recorded in Rev 2, has always amazed me. "2I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. 4Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love." The saints worked hard and persevered but that did not satisfy the Lord. He wanted the work to be coupled with a blazing love for Him. How often do we feel that as long as we have done our service or Christian duty we have pleased Him? But this word to Ephesus shows us clearly that service without love is unacceptable. 1 Cor 13:1 1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with ALL our heart, soul and mind. As we continue to acknowledge the Holy Spirit in our midst, let us love Him with all of our heart, soul and mind. And may our ministry always come from a place of deep passion for our bridegroom.

Dear Friends,

What a beautiful season we are in! We have been experiencing God's Presence in wonderful ways in our Sunday gatherings lately, and He has so much more for us.

This weekend Dr. Bill Prevette will be with us for a special Saturday workshop, and as our Sunday AM guest speaker. Come and let God speak to you through a servant of the Lord that came to Christ right in our church in the early 80s.

This Christmas season, let's share true holiday cheer by sharing the love of Jesus. Invite a friend to our Christmas Eve service, and let's believe for many hearts to be touched by the Spirit of God!

We look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Love in Jesus,

Missions in the 21st Century: Kingdom Approaches to Social Transformation with Dr. Bill Prevette

Bill Prevette & FamilySaturday, December 5, 10AM-Noon
New Life Christian Center Chapel

Dr. Bill Prevette came to the Lord through the ministry of New Life Christian Center in 1982 (back when it was called Marin Christian Life Church), and the Lord called him into international ministry as an Assemblies of God missionary. He recently finished his PhD at the Oxford Center for Missions and he and his wife Ky are preparing to return overseas to continue ministry in Eastern Europe, Asia, and India - specifically working with ministries that focus on youth and children at risk.
