Soft Heart and Hard Feet
by John Bidaurreta
Lord, give us soft hearts to obey your will and give us hard feet to continue to walk it out, especially when it gets rough.
In the book of Ezekiel, the Lord promises to give us a heart transplant.
Ezek 36:26-27 26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." NKJV
The Message translation states it this way: "I'll remove the stone heart from your body and replace it with a heart that's God-willed, not self-willed."
After the Lord has done this amazing miracle in our lives, let us not make choices that harden our hearts. That would be like a person who has survived a heart attack but refuses to change any of their bad eating habits and unhealthy lifestyle.
As we live a 'God-willed life,' challenges and trials will come our way; however, our heavenly Father is just a knee-mail away-He will help us to overcome.
James 1:2-5 2 Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. 3 You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. 4 So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. 5 If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. MSG
Although King David was not a perfect man, he did keep his heart soft before the Lord, and had hard enough feet to walk through incredible challenges. He ultimately fulfilled all of God's will. Let's all pray that what was spoken about King David would be spoken about us.
Acts 13:22-23 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.' NKJV
