| Let Us Teach Them!
Isaac Munene
Matt 28:19-20 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in [a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." The great commission is considered one of the most important commands of the Lord. He told us to go and tell others the good news. In Matt 10 He told his disciples, "freely you have received, freely give." There are those who would like the Church to be silent, to live and let live so to speak. But sharing the gospel with others is not just a good idea, it is an integral part of being a Christian.Denying a Christian the freedom to share his/her faith is tantamount to denying him/her the right to practice their faith fully and freely. The great commission is part of who the Christian is, "a witness"! Unfortunately, most Christians stop with simply sharing the good news, but we see that Jesus told us to teach the new ones among us all that He commanded us to do. In other words the things that we have learned from those who brought us into the faith are to be passed on to others who will do the same. Question, has the button (teaching) stopped with you? Are you teaching someone else what you have been taught? There are so many who have joined the Church and need to be taughtthe principles of faith and more. It is our responsibility to pass on the teachings that we have received. If we abdicate that responsibility, we risk having an upcoming generation that has lost the precious revelations that the Holy Spirit has given to the Church. This happened before in the dark ages. Much of the apostolic doctrine was lost and the Church went through the so called dark ages. Thank God, much has been restored, since Martin Luther understood that justification is by faith alone and not by works. God forbid that this happens again in the future! If we as the Church are going to grow into the fullness of revelation that the Lord has prepared for us, we need obey the great commission infullness.

| "Eat The Word" Bible Reading Challenge |
|

God told Israel, that man doesn't live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. He told the prophet Ezekiel, "eat this book" (Ezekiel 3:1). At New LIfe, we believe in being intentional about spiritual formation and about living as disciples of Jesus Christ. This Pentecost Sunday (May 31) we are challenging our entire church family, from youth to senior adults, to read through the entire Bible on either a 6-month or a 12-month plan. Our goal is to get at least 300 individuals that are a part of New Life to get involved in Eat The Word. Click on the following links to download or customize your plan. 6-month Plan (Please note that Proverbs repeats monthly, and Daniel & Revelation repeat several times - you can opt out of the repeats as desired).
