A couple of weeks ago I shared about the 5 loaves and 2 fish on a Sunday evening.  The disciples had found themselves in an interesting situation-how to feed so many people.  They were filled with worry as they tried to figure out the problem naturally.  Some disciples told Jesus to send the people away to avoid the problem, Philip attempted to calculate the financial impact of feeding such a crowd, and Andrew assisted in taking a boy's lunch.  Everyone was worried. 
 
In today's economic environment, worry is common and as a result, often times our answers are similar to those of the disciples.  What is interesting to me is that in the story, there was one group who didn't worry-the people.  They were the ones who received the blessing of the multiplication of food.  Why?  In Matthew 6:33, Jesus said, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." 
 
That Sunday evening I felt it was important to pray for the current job market, and I received a very encouraging testimony from Nora Belt a few days later.  Nora wrote:
 
Dear Pastor Eric,
 
You asked us to let you know if we have an answer to this unemployment situation.
 
My son Greg lost his job in November.  He called me to have lunch with him and I prayed for him and told him to give it to the Lord.
 
At the beginning of his unemployment, the 4th month, he called me on the phone and told me, "Mom, I was praying today and I turned it all over the God".  He told the Lord that, "I just got my last severance check and I am in a desperate situation that I am giving to you."  The next day he got a call from an insurance company in the city to come in for an interview.  He went for the interview.  They liked him and he got the job.  We also prayed for Greg at our Thursday afternoon ladies prayer meeting.
