"And God isn't pleased at being ignored"
By John Bidaurreta

Do you ever get overly focused on yourself, and consumed with your own needs and problems? I know I do from time to time, but it is not a healthy place to be.

Romans 8:7 "Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing. " MSG

I don't know anyone who likes being ignored, and God doesn't like it either.

When we find ourselves in this kind of place, we must actively seek to regain a heavenly focus. There are different ways to do this, but the one that I would like to emphasize today is through corporate prayer and intercession.

As we gather with other believers and start to declare God's Kingdom to come, on Earth as it is in Heaven, our faith begins to increase. Our focus shifts back to what an amazing God we serve, and that nothing is impossible with Him. Our problems then go from looking like mountains, to more like molehills.

There are many opportunities for corporate prayer that take place on a weekly basis, as well as special prayer gatherings throughout the year. I encourage all of us to make these prayer gatherings part of our regular routine.

Lord help us maintain a heavenly focus and be a people of prayer in all times and seasons.

Donnie Moore, Sunday, February 8 @ 10 am & 6 pm
New LifeDonnie Moore is the founder and director of Radical Reality, an evangelistic ministry based in Stockton, California.  He was saved while attending the University of Pacific in Stockton, and began a Bible study with five students on the campus in 1982.  This college ministry grew to 300 people by 1986, and still exists today.  This revival has since spread beyond Stockton to many other Northern California campuses.

Special prayer meetings will be happening to coincide with  assemblies that Donnie Moore and the Radical Reality Team have scheduled at various Novato schools.  We will be meeting in The Upper Room, Monday through Wednesday, February 9 - 11 from 9 a.m. to Noon,  to pray for these outreaches and a special Wednesday Night Service at NLCC that all of the teens will be invited to attend.
