Have you ever tried to have a conversation with someone who does all the talking? A discussion where you can't even get a word in edgewise? When they do get done talking, they are in such a hurry that they take off and go back to whatever they were doing before this "so called" conversation?
 
I think you might know what I am talking about. But sometimes I think we can do  the same thing when we speak to the Lord. We start going down our prayer list, telling the Lord all of our problems, all of our needs, all of our challenges, and maybe even the desires of our hearts. But then we are like "thanks God," and we go back to our busy lives without giving him an opportunity to say anything back to us.
 
It would be like going to the Doctor and telling him all these horrendous health problems and then taking off before you could hear his diagnosis. Don't you think the Doctor would say "wait a second I think I might have some suggestions to might help you." Well, in the same way God might have something to tell us that will help as well.
 
Psalms 46:10  "Be still, and know that I am God:" KJV
 
In the message translation its states it like this:
 
Psalms 46:10  "Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, MSG
 
We must not only speak to the Lord, but we must STOP what we are doing, take a long loving LOOK at the Lord, and LISTEN to what He has to say.
 
For we know that faith is what is going to help us , and that
 "faith comes by hearing from God." Romans 10:17
