Sometimes I need to remind myself that I have access to the very throne of grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. Therefore, all the help I need is just a knee-mail away.
Eph 2:18 "For through him (Jesus) we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father."
This story illustrates this point very well.
During the Civil War, a soldier had been granted a hearing with President Lincoln, he wanted to request an exemption from military service as a result of a family tragedy. When he arrived at the Whitehouse, he was refused entry and turned away. He went to sit at a nearby park bench. A young boy, who was walking by, noticed how distraught this soldier was and stopped to talk with him. For some reason this soldier found himself pouring out his heart to this young boy. When he had finished his story, the young boy said "come with me". The young boy led this soldier through a rear entrance to the Whitehouse. The guards at the door did not stop them, nor did any of the Generals or high ranking officials they passed in the halls. The young boy took this man all the way into the Presidential office. Without knocking on the door, the boy opens the door and walks in.
Abraham Lincoln was standing there talking to his Secretary of State, and he immediately broke off his conversation and asked, "Todd, my son, what can I do for you"? Todd answered and said, "This soldier needs to talk with you."
This soldier had access to Abraham Lincoln through his son Todd. Likewise, we have access to our Heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Heb 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
The message translation says it this way"
"So let's walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help."
Let's pour out our hearts to the Son and obtain the mercy, grace and help we need from the very throne of God.
