Adverse Effects of Vaccines: Evidence and Causality (IOM Report)
The IOM has released a report summarizing an evaluation of over 1,000 research articles studying the relationship of vaccines and adverse events. The report concludes that few health problems are caused by or clearly associated with vaccines. To access the report and additional information, click here.
2010 School Health Profiles Results
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH) is pleased to announce the release of the 2010 School Health Profiles survey results. Be sure to check out the updated PowerPoint map presentations that provide relative results showing how states compare in school health policies and practices. CDC Learning Connection Presents CDC TRAIN The CDC is pleased to announce the most recent addition to the CDC Learning Connection, CDC TRAIN, a component of the nation's most comprehensive public health learning management system (LMS). CDC TRAIN is an affiliate of the Public Health Foundation's (PHF) TrainingFinder Real-time Affiliate Integrated Network (TRAIN). Through partnership with PHF, the CDC Learning Connection provides access to a searchable catalog of more than 22,000 computer-based learning products contributed by CDC and partners.

NACCHO will accept model practice applications October 10 through November 11, 2011. Since 2003, NACCHO's Model Practice Awards program has honored innovative LHD programs. NACCHO's MCAH Sentinel Network
NACCHO is currently undertaking a multi-year project to strengthen local health department (LHD) Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH) programs. As part of this project, NACCHO is creating a Sentinel Network to further increase its understanding of local MCAH and would like to invite you to participate. LHD staff members who are working to improve health outcomes for MCAH populations are eligible to participate in the Sentinel Network. The deadline to register online is September 20, 2011.
