DKMS Bone Marrow Registration and Book Signings

Who is Lillie?

Lillie InkLillie Ink is a precious 7 year old from Wildwood, MO that has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a condition that happens when bone marrow stops making enough blood-forming stem cells.  No one in her family is a match and if the chemotherapy is unsuccessful, a marrow transplant will be mandated.    Click here for Lillie's Story West County Journal

How can you help?
My friend Amy says this is a "No Brainer".  In the time it takes to fill out a form and swab your cheek you could be in the Bone Marrow registry and possiby one day save a life.  Today, 1 in 5 people suffering from these blood-related cancers never find a match.  Not only is becoming a donor as easy as a cotton swab to your cheek, but the actual transplant of bone marrow can now be done simply and safely for the donor.  "Improvements in medical technology allow the transplant of bone marrow to be almost as easy as giving blood for the donor." says DKMS's Eleazaida Hernandez.

So look at your weekend, and if you have 10 minutes, come by and sign up to save a life.
