Regina Jackson is an Honor Roll and Principal's List student in the Paterson Public Schools System. She has been selected as the recipient of the 2010 5th Ward Scholarship Award. Regina is planning to use the $500 scholarship to take part in the People to People Ambassador Program.
According to Regina, The People to People Ambassador Program "will be an eye opener and will help her expand her view of the world and give her the tools that she will need to become a great teacher." Based on last year's scholarship recipient, Marqweesha Guthrie's experience in the People to People Ambassador program, we completely agree with Regina.
However, the total cost of the program is $7,000 and to make matters worse her father is currently unemployed. Even though this would cause an additional burden to the family, her father's support of Regina's education and development as a person has not flinched and he is doing everything humanly possible make her dream become a reality.
It is because of this reason that we would like to provide more assistance to Regina and her family to help her take part in the People to People Ambassador Program.
In order to do so, we have decided that for every 10 tickets that are purchased online from Friday, March 12 to Friday, March 19, we will add $100 to Regina's scholarship award.
If you take part in this endeavor you will receive a special recognition at the Second Annual 5th Ward Leadership & Community Collaboration Awards.
