Dear IIE Computer and Information Systems (CIS) Division members,
We have almost come to the end of an academic year of CIS division activities culminating with the annual conference. Please click here and check your session time at the conference (which you can also use to build your itinerary with sessions to attend).
I sincerely hope to see you in Reno, Nev., at the conference and in particular at the Town Hall meeting. We would like to hear your suggestions and feedback as well as bring up CIS-related issues that we ought to discuss at the Town Hall meeting (Sunday, May 22, 5 to 6:15 p.m., Room: Sierra 1). Professional Members Only...Vote Needed!
CIS Board Election and Approval of Bylaws
The Computer and Information Systems Division is currently conducting the 2011 Elections for one board member to serve 2011-2013 and a President-Elect to serve a three-year term (2011-2014) with one year each as President-elect, President, and Immediate Past President.
Also, the Division leadership has updated the Division Bylaws. We now need the membership approval of these bylaws.
Please participate in the voting to elect the individuals who will represent your division and to approve the bylaws.
You will need your CIS/IIE member number to complete this form. If your're not sure what your member number is, we can email it to you. The election will be open until May 17.

CIS Division best paper award
We received excellent papers, and three judges performed a double-blind review on all 22 papers and selected the best one. The committee was unanimous in deciding the best paper award, which goes to the paper entitled "Service Composition using Dynamic Programming and Concept Service (CS) Network" by Liying Cui, Soundar Kumara, and Tao Yao from the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department at The Pennsylvania State University. The award winner will receive a certificate at the 2011 IIE Annual Conference and Expo. The IIE-CIS Board members look forward to receiving many competitive papers in future years as well.

CIS Division best student paper award
We received several excellent papers, and three judges performed a double-blind review and selected the best paper. This year, the award goes to Akkarapol Sangasoongsong at Oklahoma State University who was advised by Professor Satish Bukkapatnam for the paper, "Willingness-to-pay Prediction Based on Empirical Mode Decomposition." The board members look forward to receiving many competitive papers from students in future years as well.
