Six Sigma Green Belt Training

Membership
I visited the IIE headquarters in Georgia at the beginning of December for our annual RVP meeting. The topic that took up 90 percent of our time and effort was membership - especially membership for the professional chapters. In the months ahead, IIE will be revising and re-publishing their membership outreach pamphlet as well as integrating its concepts into the IIE marketing, website and offerings. The goal is to further define value for the IIE member and to link them to their professional and student chapters.
Value
In the current age, professionals have a tremendous amount of things seeking to grab their attention during the month: childcare, business obligations, sports and professional organizations (IIE?). Add to this the distractions of TV, movies, internet, etc., and it's difficult to get individuals, especially young individuals, involved. To do this, an organization must provide a definite value to the professional. More from Region Vice-President

Jobs, jobs, jobs!
I noted in the last several month's newsletter that the IIE website has an extensive job board, which is updated daily with IE specific positions throughout the Northeast. These positions range from entry level to CEO, and are located in just about every state(from Delaware to New Hampshire, Maine to Pennsylvania). As of January 20th, these states had the following number of open positions sent to IIE:
Delaware - 1
New Jersey - 19
New York - 44
Pennsylvania - 28
Massachusetts - 29
Connecticut -26
Rhode Island - 1
Maine - 2
Vermont - 3
New Hampshire - 1
The website also had roughly 5x that many job postings that it aggregated from other search engines.
